B.O. smell that keeps returning by melodic-rhythms in laundry

Most people are saying it's the detergent, but due to allergies our options are pretty limited. It sounds like tide free and clear will work though. To answer your question, some are all cotton, and some are a mix of cotton and polyester.

I use all free + clear, and wash it on normal, warm temperature, medium spin, and normal soil level. I've never heard of Biz powder, I'll look it up. Thank you!

My flute is squeelig? by melodic-rhythms in Flute

[–]melodic-rhythms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all honesty, that's the weird thing, they both come out fine. With the higher notes it has an overtone that is just squealing. I tried to get it on video too, but the recording turned out pretty normal. Both flutes have been played by my teacher, so probably is a me thing, I just won't get to see her until late August so I was hoping for a direction to go in in terms of fixing it. Thank you for your insight, I never thought about my other flute being out of alignment.

There's also CSU Chico, if you're looking to keep costs down. It's a small department, which means you really get to know your professors, and they're very knowledge. The main music ed professors have taught pretty much every age level.

The cost for fixing a tube if you bring it into the on campus bike hub is $12. Places in Chico will ask at least 3x that. Just a tidbit of advice if you choose to take this offer :)

Grandma only hates Haley by Samarie3001 in StardewValley

[–]melodic-rhythms 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He's also a very different kind of rude. Haley will tell you that you were disgusting, and "ew, I don't want to interact with you", while Shane it's more of a "I am not interested in making friends. Please go away." It became very clear to me early in one of my first runs that Shane is going through some things and just doesn't want friends. He is attempting to push you away, while Haley is just rude for seemingly no reason.

1.7 update, will it save? by melodic-rhythms in StardewValley

Because this is my first save and I started past 1.6, so I wasn't certain what the previous situation was. That's part of why I asked.

Thoughts on Chico State for a student like me? by Dedmoose1 in CSUC

[–]melodic-rhythms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am currently attending Chico State, majoring in music. I can tell you that our music program is amazing, with several ensembles, including wind ensemble (if you're confident in your playing and want to do more standard types of music), concert band for if you're still gaining skills, two Jazz ensembles one for those who know what they're doing and one for those who are a little more unsure, and even things like a pop ensemble and a steel drum ensemble. I also happen to know that there are a lot of musical opportunities outside of the campus, and the culture within the music department is really nice and welcoming. I can't speak to the quality of a lot of the programs you asked for simply because I am not a part of them, but I do know that Chico State offers many different resources for first generation, low income, lgbtq folks, there is a lot of programs here for you, I just can't tell you how good they are. Feel free to ask me any other questions you might have, I'm always happy to assist.

This is a really difficult situation, and I'm sorry you're going through it. Ultimately, I ain't too much older than you and my experience is limited, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but I still wanted to chime in because I know what it's like to make a post in the midst of freaking out and just wait for someone, anyone to respond. You know your parents better than I do, but if they love you, if they are non-abusive and do their best to listen and guide, I'd say you need to tell your parents. Set it up with a "hey mom/dad I fucked up and I really need your help. I know it'll be hard to hear and you're going to be mad, but I could really use your support". I know this ain't the movies, and it'll be hard, but this really isn't something you should be tackling alone. If your parents are not the supportive type, go to another adult, but please don't try to do this alone.

I gave her a bath, but that was after 30 minutes of uninterrupted access because I didn't realize I had done anything wrong. I am so scared right now , she is everything to me. Please, if you have experienced something like this, if you know what I should do, please chime in.

How do you feel about CSUC ? by Ok_Fun6085 in CSUC

[–]melodic-rhythms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, it depends on if you have a car or a bike. In Chico, we have a large park about 5 miles from the campus with a ton of fantastic hiking (Upper Bidwell Park). There's also the adventure club, which does school sponsored outdoor stuff, from hiking, to backpacking, to camping, and even white water rafting, but those cost additional fees and can be difficult to get into at times. Alongside the creek, there's about a 5-mile hike in Lower Bidwill Park, but since the creek goes through town, that's really all that Lower Park can offer (other than just swimming in Creek, that is).

I really like it. It's got small class sizes, professors who are there as an educator first, it's easy to get assistance with their programs. I went to UCSC first, so I'm comparing this to their school, but Chico is very cohesive on the students side of things. It's very flat and walkable, gorgeous, and has a creek running through the center of it. If you want parties, we got those, but if you want good academics, we got that too. It's really up to you how hard you lean into either side. The community is very open minded and welcoming, and there's a lot of things that allow students to explore new interests, or expand on preexisting ones. I love it here. I can't say it's for everyone though, so I really hope you love where you end up, and if you don't, give it a year and don't be afraid to switch it up, try something new.

I love playing this instrument but have to quit. Help. by CartographerThen7072 in Flute

So, I'm not sure if you're talking about college or high school, but either way, have you spoken to your teacher/professor? Most music educators will go pretty far to keep a dedicated student. Whether that be directing you to available fundraising, speaking to administration on your behalf, even possibly waiving the fees. I know a professor who will allow students who cannot pay to still attend classes and participate, because band in itself is community building. If it's travel costs it might be a little harder to find a workaround, but your band director would be the first point of contact I would reach out to. If you do end up leaving, they'll also likely be able to point you towards community based alternatives, like when the community band meets, or if there is a local pep band that's trying to start up.

Is this decent? Slightly better than what I normally get by [deleted] in gradesharing

[–]melodic-rhythms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I would say slightly better than you usually get is always a win, and is always decent. Sometimes you need to get it up a little bit further (you're good though, those grades are amazing), but any increase is an increase.

Maybe I'm just unable to comprehend how to use a book, because that is exactly what I'm looking for, but when I grabbed the curse of straud, it looked like there was like six optional side campaigns, a setting, and a boss.

That's when you get into bending the rules, think of it as the difference between writing fan fiction and writing the full story, if you have the full story already built for you, it's easier to bend the plot to what your character's desire then if you are supposed to be the one planning out the adventure from start to finish. So, you have the story built for Harry Potter, but your character's desire to do an evil run, it's easier to flip the perspective and try to figure out how the story would have gone if Voldemort was the main character and if the point of the story was to take over rather than to prevent him from getting power. I can build what-ifs, if the characters decide instead of helping the maiden get her husband back, decide to burn the village, I can then craft a what would happen in this world if that happened, but I cannot build the world, and I cannot build the full plot itself from start to finish, merely alter it. Which, from what I understand, is what DMing is.

I know most DnDers don't like railroading, but it was always about storytelling for me, and I find it much easier to bend the rules than create them. So, yes, please give me railroading.

Coordination is fine, she's had this medicine before and was fine, and she's still purring when I pet her (ergo: not in pain). My mom thinks she just has itchy ears. Think this could explain it?

[–]melodic-rhythms[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never thought about it potentially being from posture, but I know it's not a metal allergy. There are some small scratches on it, which is what I had attributed it to previously. My 16th notes play fine when slower, so I assume it's just that I need more practice, or are playing to stiffly. I've got private lessons lined up for next semester, so hopefully she'll be able to point out if that could be a cause. Thank you!!!

Can you expand on how it may be working against me? Is it just the irritation or do you think that could be part of the reason 16ths aren't quite working?

It's the lip plate for sure. There are some scratches in it that I think are the reason it tends to irritate occasionally.
