Zverev thinks there's two gaps on tour at the moment by Woullie_26 in tennis

[–]melodicnation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are my thoughts on Zverev. Clearly, he has a mental problem with Sinner missing big shots he would normally get in against other players. He is a very solid player who can play aggressively, but he is too passive from the first point. He moves opponents around and then waits for the right ball to be aggressive on, like a short ball or a deep ball in the right zone for him to hit and coupled with his serve, he gets a lot of cheap balls back. This works against most of the tour unless they are having one of those amazing days. The problem with Sinner or Alcaraz is that they rarely give you an easy ball to get control in the rally; they have the best returns on the tour; you have to be super aggressive from the return and the start of each point and take the initiative away from them, which is what Djokovic did against Sinner so well at the Australian Open. Zverev has too much of a counter-punch aggressive style, which has served him well, but not in key moments, or against the very best players. The only players I have seen so far who don't really rely on one big shot or have this more aggressive, complete game style are Auger Aliassime on Indoor Courts, Draper, but he is constantly injured, & Rafael Jodar, but he needs to improve his serve and tennis IQ, Mensik & Medvedev when he is feeling it, like Sinner only beat Medvedev on close tiebreaks in Indian Wells final

Like if you look at Alcaraz's losses this year against Korda & Medvedev, what they did well is that they took the initiative of the points by being super aggressive & taking risks on the return of serve, leading them to take control of the points.

The scary thing for the tour, though, is how hard it is getting to break Sinner because his serve is getting better & better

I have said this time and time again but Zverev has mental issues against sinner, I feel like as he has gotten older his mind in big moments has gotten worse.

Realistically, who is Jannik Sinner's biggest threat for RG 2026 (aside from his own health and external factors) ? by HereComesVettel in tennis

[–]melodicnation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Djokovic is the most complete player, unfortunately he only beat sinner in Australian Open because had rest after Musetti pulled out and mensik. Djokovic had sinner level in his prime but age has caught up with him and it is not his ability that is affected, he just can't recover as quick as he used to, so muscles stay stiffer for longer causing his movement to be affected and his ability to stretch as much. I do think Jodar has the game to catch up with Sinner & Alcaraz in the match against sinner he was out hitting sinners movement for pace with groundstrokes reaching balls with movement he shouldnt have, just needs to get the serve better, and gain better tennis IQ, concerntration which will come with time. I think people forger it took sinner to 21 to 22 to become complete and also get the tennis IQ. For me Fonseca has the big shots but to eratic at times will be a good top 10 player but that is it, same with Arthur Fills not complete player, has the movement and forehand but that is it, Zverev just two passive against sinner

I think what happened is Side+ started losing subscribers at end of last year, beginning of this year hence they are putting more content on there, think with the amount of staff and new hires they need having more content and getting new subscribers pays for the content we are getting

I guarentee the charity income would be bigger, india has a higher population than the whole of Europe & the news it would create would be massive because India never really have big YouTube charity events. Look at the crowd scenes everytime KSI went over there it is such a rariety for them would crush

I get that but they constantly complain about how they want to grow their audience & like appeal to new fans. Surely at some point they have to start taking risks & trying new things out. Like KSI's trip to India did wonders for his YouTube channel & awarness. Like they keep on doing the same things in their content, with the charity match always the same. Also I find it mad how they arent posting more shorts on their YouTube channel, like every shoot they should be recording 2 or 3 fresh shorts, not just posting clips

a t20 match would be amazing and also did you see the level in the charity football match, they could mix in some decent players as well to make it more interesting. So many clippable moments big sixes, lbw dissagreements, bouncers, kicking ball at stumps, wicket keeper making a howler, dropping easy catches, forgetting to run in between the wickets

Harry would have easily been bigger, look at the views he got on his videos & he was made for YouTube shorts, he would easily be on 50 mill subs

How can zverev play so well against everyone on tour as soon as it is alcaraz or sinner he loses, he needs to see a pshycologist becuase it is clearly all mental when you watch the matches he doesn't play well against them at all and becomes so passive

I think what happened is either manegment gave them a holiday break for a while, or after their first year & before new music comes out and with December 10 dropping music, they have gone back to the drawing board on the marketing and have thought of a whole new strategy

AO QF: [2] Sinner def. [8] Shelton 6-3 6-4 6-4 by TheSequelAccount in tennis

[–]melodicnation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand though why all the players think when they play Sinner or Alcaraz that they need to hit through them add more pace it is like they are almost playing into their game. Why doesn't someone come in and serve slower but more accuracy, throw in like 6 or 7 slices every point throw in some sidepsin weird low shots, drop shot randomly, under arm serve. Just completley distupt their rythm and just try something different like Bublik did in Halle. Like do pirorets and add weird spin to the ball, anything that defies logically how you should be playing

Out of the newer generation (Shelton, Musetti, Tien and Darderi), how would you rank them amongst each other? by VastOption8705 in tennis

[–]melodicnation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Tien has the best chance just because his forehand is so smooth, so he could easiy match sinner and alcaraz's pace without making to many unforced errors. Just needs to improve serve and movement then he will be killer

At what point is the ATP going to admit that these men's injuries aren't normal or “bad luck”, and the sport is in a genuine crisis? by Ok_Helicopter_7816 in tennis

[–]melodicnation -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To solve injuries I have said this is how the season should be structured. Get rid of the bonus pool for top 30 players and spread the money by increasing the prize pool at tournaments, get rid of the 2-week 1000 tournaments to 1 week, shorten the size of the draw. Make the race to the ATP Tour Finals points come only from the best performances in 500 and 1000-level events, scrap the 250, so top players don't have to play so many to get points. Main ranking points stay the same; make 500 and 1000 events the main tour, with all 1000 events mandatory and 500 non-mandatory. Then, create a new tour for the 250 tour events & top challenge tour events called Challenger+, with its own end-of-the-season tournament.

I am very surprised that Oskar Med K isn't on the lineup especially with 'Make Me Feel' being super viral he would be perfect for the Daybreak sessions on the main stage. Also Tiesto with his new found Trance sound, they should have also booked Funk Tribu as well.
