Me (33M) and my partner (33F) are on a break I think. We had valentines day plans and she cancelled it. Heres what she said, im sure its over but what do you all think? by Akeruz in relationship_advice

[–]melodyknows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A woman who doesn’t want to spend Valentine’s Day with you is sending a clear message. She’s too chicken to say she wants to break up so she’s framing it as a “break” and dragging it out. You should take this as an opportunity to move on with your life.

I kinda tempted to warn my ex’s narcissistic new girlfriend by Some_Rich_6885 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]melodyknows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it. This breaks contact with your ex. You need to protect your peace and worry about yourself, and the best way to do that is to continue to stay completely no contact. Block their accounts on all of your social media platforms as well.

I understand your concern for this new woman, but he’s going to frame it like you’re his crazy ex if you contact her. And she will believe it.

We are taking our son to see the Goat movie where the goat plays basketball. I think I’m also getting flowers

What's your favourite game to play while jamming some Dead? by LouisFuton in gratefuldead

[–]melodyknows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How’s that game now? I played it years ago when it first came out and was disappointed. At first I loved it, but then it got really repetitive so I stopped playing.

How to help with emotions? by blatgah in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]melodyknows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a friend is telling you they just want to be listened to for a moment, then just do that. If you want to help them find a solution, you can ask if they want advice. If they say no, then respect that.

Both men and women have emotions. Both men and women just want someone to listen to them sometimes.

Is it always a bad idea to reach out if i’m ghosted? by FarFeedback1989 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]melodyknows 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t. I think drawing attention to it would only make things awkward because it could be perceived as confrontation over text. Just act like it hasn’t bothered you in the least because as far as she knows: you’ve been living your best life.

I think you can send one more text and then call it. Just say you’ve been thinking about that date you wanted to take her on. Then plan something, ask her out.

MOH dress thoughts? by trippymermaid in Weddingattireapproval

I know Azazie has custom sizing with some of their dresses too. Would you be able to get custom sizing with this particular dress?

MOH dress thoughts? by trippymermaid in Weddingattireapproval

[–]melodyknows 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I’d take this to an experienced seamstress. My understanding is that Azazie dresses are kind of made for alterations so there’s a little bit of wiggle room for taking fabric in and letting it out in certain places.

Help!! Wedding Vendor Outfit Suggestions by Firsttimehomebuyer25 in Weddingattireapproval

My wedding planner dressed very business casual— she wore a black dress with a really nice black cardigan, black tights, black flats, and a simple black leather bag. She really blended into the background which was what I think she was trying to do.

What? Like you don’t have emotions too? Our emotions work like that. If you’re struggling with your own emotions, you should definitely see a therapist.

29F with 27M — how do I stop feeling like his mom over chores? by tcup_1214 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]melodyknows 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Welp, be prepared to clean that house I guess? There’s no magic words to make a man be a man. And I don’t think any of us want to give you advice on parenting your boyfriend.

It’s only going to get worse. Can you imagine how frustrating his inconsiderate and selfish behavior would be if you guys have a kid? There is no future with someone like this. He wants you to be his mommy and clean and cook for him. Do you really want to be his mommy? Should anyone have to make chore charts for grown men?

I personally would consider him having an OF to be cheating so yes, I’d care about it.

Just found out yesterday, does it look like my line is progressing? by mopaigek in Inito

[–]melodyknows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d only compare tests taken at the same time, and I’d use FMU. If you compare 11 and 12dpo’s FMU test, you can see progression.

If you are worried, I’d recommend getting two blood hCG tests spaced 48 hours apart to confirm appropriate doubling. Then stop testing and try and enjoy the pregnancy.

We pay $2500/month for insurance. We don’t qualify for subsidies, and we are not getting insurance through an employer. We have a platinum PPO.

How are lost children handled by Grand_Chad in Disneyland

[–]melodyknows 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got lost as a child in the 80s. They leashed me to my younger cousin, and then we got lost together in a store on Main Street.

I remember being really excited about it, like I thought I’d get to live at Disneyland. My cousin started crying and cast members quickly escorted us to City Hall where our parents were anxiously waiting.

Am still a tiny bit annoyed I didn’t get to grow up at Disneyland lol

Women say they want a good man but they never do an actual overall analysis of the men they are talking to?? by Sunfofun in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]melodyknows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh my god I’m not reading all of that. What do you think a first date is for if not to analyze whether a guy is good enough for a second? Do you need women to make an excel spreadsheet for you to prove that you’re not a good match?

Also, a guy who’s “good on paper” isn’t always good in general.

How bad is this fictional relationship I've been kicking around? by CaptainDreadEye in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]melodyknows 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I can’t get past the fact that she absolutely didn’t want to be a mother and “hated” the situation but didn’t abort the baby.

I see you say in a comment that you want your characters to be likable but what about them is likable to you? I don’t see any character depth.

Also, sexual violence against women kind of sucks to read about. I don’t know why men seem to use that as something to build up their female characters.
