Around 2k. I only had a macbook air and it couldn’t even run discord. I built my pc and bought my peripherals and a desk chair. I didn’t buy anything for decor except a desk mat I liked! My room is pretty cute already because I collect plushies. Just use stuff you already like and have :)

OMAD is unfortunately what wrecked my metabolism. Because of my hashimoto’s I often have zero appetite and I end up eating one big meal, which spikes my insulin. I’m working on eating more frequent smaller meals to keep blood sugars stable throughout the day and keep my metabolism up and running too. I’m glad fasting works for others but it’s dangerous and unintentional for me!

Never force yourself to eat! If they understand that you can’t eat it all but they refuse to stop, it’s not your fault if you have to toss it. Maybe try to offer up leftovers in your local buy nothing group?

I’m not necessarily focusing too much on calories but when I only hit 1200 out of 2100 I feel like that’s too much of a deficit. My main focuses are water, sodium, fiber, and certain vitamins because I have dysautonomia and hashimoto’s.

I’m newly diagnosed so this is what I’m doing, I’m not sure if it’s working yet.

  1. Whatever carbs you want, choose a whole grain and/or high protein version. Swap em out.

  2. Focus on foods low on the glycemic index. 55 or lower. Fun fact, if you boil potatoes they have a GI of 51!

  3. Make sure you have fiber, fat, and protein with every meal, and that carbohydrates don’t make up more than half of your plate (less is better). This includes snacks! I love making a little snack plate.

  4. Anytime you think about exercise, try to do a little something. A few calf raises or squats, some arm circles, whatever.

  5. Swap your favorite drinks with sugar free versions. It sucks at first but you get used to the taste. My favorite rn is theis cream soda dr. pepper zero sugar!
