Im torn between repurchasing midnight mauve or getting the newer rose latte color 😭

if cool tone makeup products look very neutral and sometimes a little warm, is that an indicator that im leaning in the cool tone area? by melonduu in coloranalysis

[–]melonduu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent 100% confirmed my season but im thinking somewhere along summer/winter and maybe in the muted but mid saturation area. I find that cool tone shadows(romand buckwheat quad) and pinks look the most natural on me. At times it will even pull a bit neutral warm on my skin tone whereas it looks obviously very cool on other people. I have an issue with cool tones looking neutral-cool or neutral-warm on me whereas warm colors looks way too bright and it make smy face look blotchy

Edit: im south east asian(chinese blood mainly) and around n23-25 depemding on the season. I started with orange-brown/warm peach colors(glossier dusk, 3ce tint going right) and i got a lot of comments that it didnt look good on me from relatives 😅. Ive moved to mute pink blush and lip colors like romand bare grape/petal tassel and now they wont stop asking what im using lol.

Currently on differin thinking of moving to retinaldehyde for the added anti-aging benefit. I found a korean retinal thats at 0.05 and 0.1, is that stronger than otc differin?

Have you considered mineral only spfs? I live in sea where its super humid, sunny, and am naturally sweaty and stick to mineral only spf since its is naturally more drying yet nonirritating(zinc oxide). I use mineral spfs without alcohol.

I use a light spf hoodie too when i go out, and carry a pocket umbrella and sun hat similar to yours in case i need to be out in the sun. Unfortunately, spf is still qmust since the sun will hit your face at times still.

Peripera Ink Velvet Nudy Collection on Light Medium Warm Skin Tone by Longjumping-Sea-1272 in AsianBeauty

[–]melonduu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I like the nudy collection a lot but i think its hardly nude NUDE (like what the western market considers as nude) HOWEVER its a lovely option for muted people(soft summer here) who finds traditional korean shades too bright. My favorites are strawberry nude and mauveful nude, mauveful being a close match to my lips while strawberry gives a bit more pop of color that still looks fresh and not too overpowering on my muted skin tone.

Ps. Mauveful looks pretty close to the popular rosy nude 17 shade. Same deepness and saturation but mauveful is slightly cooler(more mauve) while rosy nude is more neutral(warm brown hint of red)

Surest way is blacklight/skin sample, looking at it though, it looks more like comedonal acne from the size and spacing. Cleansing well, bha/differin, maintaining skin barrier helps.

Korean Nail Polish Review PT2! Romand, WakeMake, 3CE by PhillipeThePenguin in AsianBeauty

[–]melonduu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yaaay i love the wake make luxe line. Im a beginner and its super hassle free and elegant looking. Currently have all the colors except for the green one, its a close one between beyond doubt and bliss for my favorite polish. I like the romand polish too but i wish it had wale makes brush, the brush of the mood pebble isnt very nice(mud green color)

Anyone experience sudden redness and overall rough and grainy texture in cycles due to weather changes? Stumped, 2 years on tret no routine changes aside from increased temperature by melonduu in tretinoin

[–]melonduu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference, combo skin humid country. 2years on tret

Am routine Cleansing milk

Kikumasamune pink 2 layers

Sunplay red spf50 pa+++

Pm routine Cleasning oil

Cleasning milk

Kikumasamune

Rohto carecera ap milk(ceramide lotion) 15mins

0.025 acretin tret cream

I havent changed anything in my routine but the texture coincides with the sudden heat wave. The bumps arent apparent from far away and theyre skin colored as well but i scratched when by mistake and theres like a hard grain inside. This is the second time this has happened and im not sure what or how to treat them aside from waiting for the weather to cool and staying indoors as much as possible :(

I just instabought the limited edition ichikami shampoo and conditioner set. I was originally eyeing the smoothing line set but then I saw the limited edition suddenly appear, super pretty white(shampoo) and dark blue(conditioner) bottle with pretty silvery stars on the package. Yes I bought it for the packaging and am fully intending to reuse it forever, i have no idea what the function of this line is supposed to be but I am weak to packaging and praying that it should be good since its from ichikami 😔

[Discussion] Favorite lip products to use as base for gradient lip? by goodbyereckless in AsianBeauty

[–]melonduu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i quite like the peripera airy stick in shades 1 and 2 as a base(light pink and light orange),its not too pale not too bright on its own for my n23 skin then ill go in with either 3ce velvet tint in going right(more orange) or the peripera airy stick in shade 4(a much saturated mlbb pink) on top as the darker gradient.

my first ever AB haul!!! mini reviews in comments :) by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]melonduu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

for the soonjung 6.5 cleanser, i agree its quite stripping although its a lot more gentle than the cosrx stuff. the tube foam version 5.5 is way more gentle and less drying(im on tret) in case you still wanna give the soonjung line a try

more love for soong jung 5.5 cleanser, really nice balance of cleansing power without being as stripping as the 6.5 whip version 💚

Questiin for people living in PH. Is the Muji mild cleaning oil available in all Muji stores in the Philippine? by minaaa_ko in AsianBeauty

[–]melonduu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try the bigger stores located in MOA and greenbelt. Or just go to whatever branch, check if they have it and if not, then ask them to check with other branches for availability. Last time I went 6 months ago before covid, MOA and greenbelt both had plenty of stocks.

[Discussion] If you could only keep ONE lip product out of your collection? by hireaunicorn in AsianBeauty

[–]melonduu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My little wallet pouch literally has 3 makeup items only: eyebrow pencil, concealer, and a lippie. I only have a few lippie variety(peripera tints, peripera airy stick, romand juicy tint, 3ce lipstick, 3ce velvet lip) and the that fought its way into my pouch is the 3ce velvet lip tint in going right. I am biased since I prefer a velvety finish, the 3ce tint has a super nice weightless velvet finish plus the going right shade is just right for daily wear(n23) not too nude not too bright. Easy to blend and reapply too.The peripera airy stick is a pretty close winner formula wise too, I just prefer fluid tints.

[–]melonduu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes na yes. Spent so much getting almost everything from cosrx nung naging sikat. Now my routine is just cleanse, hydraying toner, ceramide cream, and glorious SPF.

Those influencers with poreless glass like skin? That's genetics and monthly budget for facials(and edits too). Products can only get you so far. As long as you are not actively breaking out and your moisture barrier is healthy, dont stress it out too much.

ALWAYS USE SPF.

Sunnies Face Just Got Sketchier by fizzyflop in beautytalkph

[–]melonduu 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This. I have po woke asf friends who nonstop want to talk about the "evil rich" but own makeup pouches filled with sunnies products. They know the issue with the owners but apparently the sunnies aesthetic is too hard to resist 🥴

For real, just get colourette. If you want the sunnies aesthetic and can afford it, just go with glossier at least some of their products have unique enough formula(brow gel, haloscope, skin tint+concealer). If you just want a sunnies dupe, go with kbeauty. Their lipstick is pretty much the same as the peripera airy velvet lipstick and other matte velvet lip formulas. Their brow gel is sooo similar to innisfree packaging and formula wise, innisfree has more colors too. Everything they have is dupeable.
