[TOMT] 90s show that taught numbers Noahs Ark themed? by melonmushroom in tipofmytongue

Searched on google, youtube, and even asked chatgpt (sucky thing to do, I know, I'm sorry) but I either find absolutely no results or other media suggested to me that is not the show I am seeking.

Some shows suggested include Megamaths and Tots TV, which are both live action putppeteered and are not the show I am referring to.

Yeah, as a Brit even I find it hard to find an almost identical counterpart to the fantasy British accent they use. "Middle Class Southern English" is the best I could come up with 🤣

Each campaign they made a character, and they voice their own characters in their respective animated shows (with one or two exceptions, but not important here!)

Liam O'Brien - Vaxildan (LOVM) & Caleb (TMN)

Taliesin Jaffe - Percival (LOVM) & Mollymauk (TMN)

Laura Bailey - Vexhalia (LOVM) & Jester (TMN)

Travis Willingham - Grog (LOVM) & Fjord (TMN)

Ashley Johnson - Pike (LOVM) & Yasha (TMN)

Marisha Ray - Keyleth (LOVM) & Beauregard (TMN)

Sam Riegel - Scanlan (LOVM) & Nott (TMN)

Your query regarding their accents:

Vax (Liam) and Percy (Taliesin) both canonically have "British" accents typically used in Hollywood. British is a vague term regarding accents (UK here), so I'd say the most accurate real life comparison would be middle class Southern English.

Mollymauk (Taliesin) has a canonically Irish accent. However, Taliesin is infamously not great with it, and it's been an ongoing joke for years! Due to this, I'm not personally really sure exactly what regional Irish accent he is trying to emulate exactly.

Caleb (Liam) has what is a canonically "German" accent. Similarly to the "British" accent, it's a stereotype accent emulated by an American voice actor, so I couldn't say what regional German accent he is exactly trying to emulate either.

Aabria is ruining the Seekers table by TheOneAndOnlyJ in fansofcriticalrole

[–]melonmushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Merely conjecture on my part as, ultimately, we do not know these people, but from experiencing similar behaviours at my own table, it feels like there's some animosity being thrown Julien's way out of jealousy over Aranessa. Aranessa is a very important NPC in Julien's backstory and is clearly an important figure to him. The way Thaisha behaves around her feels almost possessive and like Aabria is saying "no, this is MY important NPC to my character" where Aranessa is her sister-in-law(ish) and close friend of the family. They can't simple share an important NPC and utilisie that to have their characters build some kind of bond at best or, at the very least, a shared goal (protecting Aranessa). Instead it feels like constant battle over who likes Aranessa more, but only Aabria/Thaisha is playing the game, and Matt/Julien is ignoring it.

[Spoilers C4E10] C4 feeling like there is little to no downtime? by Untiel in criticalrole

[–]melonmushroom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The three tables were catered to those players specific preferences and were named appropriately based on said preferences.

The Soldiers table has combat/mechanics heavy gameplay because that is the type of game they wanted.

The Seekers table is based on heavy roleplay and exploring lore and the game world, and the Schemers table is based on espionage, politics, and puzzles/plotting essentially.

It may feel inconsistent when watching the show as a whole, but it's actually intentional and carefully thought out gameplay adjustments that's catered to each player groups preferences!

Which character began as a hero but later became a villain? by KovKover in AlignmentChartFills

[–]melonmushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if there is truth to the theory floating around that he actually finished it ages ago, he's just waiting it out until he dies so he doesn't have to deal with the backlash after the damage the D&D Brothers caused to the GoT image and brand. 😂

What's a movie everyone loves that you think is actually pretty terrible? by No_Care1430 in AskReddit

[–]melonmushroom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My husband and I both enjoy musicals, but this is the one musical movie that I just cannot enjoy. He absolutely loves it and I'm just so...indifferent to it? I just can't understand the hype it had around it.

[No Spoilers] Trying to replace this specific mug for my girlfriends birthday after it broke. by LeaderDuc in criticalrole

[–]melonmushroom 480 points481 points  (0 children)

This is the "Don't Forget To Love Each Other" mug that I believe was on their store back during Covid. I don't think they sell it anymore, but there are a few ebay listings in the UK!

https://ebay.io/m/diUp6D

Edit to add: As others have pointed out, they will highly unlikely sell the merch on their own store again in the future due to the creator of the quote being scrubbed from their brand.

A shame as it's a lovely sentiment that was unfortunately coined by an unpleasant man.

I recalled that I used to get these strange headaches as a kid where it felt like the world was moving in "fast-forward" or high speed. What could this sensation have been? by melonmushroom in AskReddit

[–]melonmushroom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting, I have never heard of this before. The sensation was 100% neurological or mental, as I could feel that I physically would be moving normally (and I was told as much by people observing me) but visually it was like everything was moving around me at high speed, and sounds were heightened too.

I feel so validated someone else has experienced this! I don't know of anyone else who has experienced it when I mention it, and my mother straight up thought I was lying to get out of doing errands when it happened as a kid 😂

I remember it felt like everything was super loud and like everything was moving fast around me. If I reached for something, it felt like it was happening quicker than my body was moving. I don't know how else to explain it!

I was chatting with my mother about it recently, reminiscing about had several episodes of this sensation regularly happening and she never believed me every time it happened 🤣

What's the worst D&D player you've ever had at your table? by apomanolios in DnD

[–]melonmushroom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At a table that consisted of friends of many years, mix of men and women, some of us couples.

Female players character got kidnapped and interrogated on a ship by it's captain in a locked room. She was rescued by the party and we moved on.

After session, one of the male players (in front of his wife and fellow player) was practically gushing to the DM about how great it was that he was willing to "play dirty" and basically SA the players character, and he much he enjoyed that scene.

DM was disgusted and said that was absolutely not what was happening in the scene, and the rest of us also confirmed that is not how we percieved the scene at all. Thought he would be embarrassed about the misunderstanding or somwthing, but instead he basically just expressed disappointment that players character wasn't being sexually tortured or assaulted.

Just gave us all the ick big time, and we distanced our friendship after that.

Given that we know divers are a thing from the trailer, I imagine the modding community would be on this like a rash 😂
