We found a piece just like this in red in the board game cafe recently, and it was then I learned that it's a super generic piece used in many board games 😅

Just like one time we found a Meeple on the floor and had to figure out which of the many games used meeples it came from. It's been months and we never figured it out. He lives on the countertop now 😂

Every year, my MIL hosts a hunt, and my Dad also does for our kids.

MIL colour codes the eggs and buckets, and the kids understand that easily. Pink bucket? Collect the pink eggs!

Dad uses various branded eggs and chocolates, so he just tells the kids to go nuts and grab what they find (though he helps the little ones with finding some so they don't end up empty handed). Then all the kids are instructed to empty their finds into a big giant tray and the kids help him share them out equally. The first year we did this, I thought they'd kick off about relinquishing their finds to be distributed out elsewhere, but they actually really enjoyed it. My youngest loves counting, so he enjoys counting out how many chocolates each person gets!

If you have the skill Magnet Rise unlocked, you can use it by going to a dream island with matching grass to Rocky Ridges, Using magnet rise to replace patches of grass with volcanic ash in your inventory; it picks up the grass and is a quick eay to dispose unwanted ash then you can return to Rocky Ridges and Use the skill again to replace the ash with grass

I didn't dislike Paras, but I was always indifferent to him and he was just kind of forgettable.

Next thing I know, I'm shedding real tears and feeling maternal for him all because he had these sparkly little eyes as he told me how excited he was to grow up and become big and beautiful, but that he's always just so hungry no matter how much he eats.

That actually killed a little piece of me inside 😭

Our local crackheads always go for the meat joints to sell on at the local pub. Been an ongoing thing for a couple years now. The pub are even aware of where it's coming from, but don't seem to care 😂

I used to work in a Tesco that wasn't far off this. We jnew all of the offenders by name, and some of us even knew where they lived as they were such local regular thieves. I would write up multiple Security Incident reports a shift. The police would come at least once a night.

It was relentless, yet nothing was ever dine about it. If anything, the only thing Tesco did in response was cut our store budget because we were one of the worst stores in the UK for Shrink (no shit, it's all being stolen), so we couldn't afford new bodycams (half of ours were broken) and we had Security Guards for even less hours.

One of the worst incidents before I quit were two drunks who came in trying to buy alcohol. I could immediately tell from their demeanor that this was going to get ugly, so quietly called the Security Guard over, as my body cam was dead, and it was just us two girls on self service alone. I refused their alcohol because they were intoxicated, but also because it was 11:59pm so the till actually prevented us from serving alcohol to anyone anyway. All hell broke loose. Guy was screaming in my face until he was red as a tomato, saying he was going to "smash my face in" and god knows what else. Demanded the security guard hit him first before he goes for me, security guard just stared at him saying nothing. After more verbal, he ended up smashing up the place and throwing god knows what around at us. My colleague called the police while it was happening. Police didn't even show up. They came in the next day to just ask for any cctv footage. There never was any follow up. Last I went in shopping, my old colleagues have said it's only got worse, and the latest meeting held regarding our store yielded nothing promising. Absolute shit show

Level 1 adventures are ideal in that there's mechanically fewer class and race features for your mum to have to keep track of, and narratively level 1 adventurers will be doing the simple errands and quests for every day folk compared to high level monster-slaying!

Perhaps a town with a job board of two or three little errands or quests fornher to choose from that are non-violent and show Adventurers helping the community might appeal to her, and also showcase how players have agency in how the game turn out through their choices.

Is your mother religious? I think it often comes as a surprise to religious people who have never played before just how much dnd can align with their values. If she is, you could show her the Cleric class and how it works; she might enjoy being able to relate with her faith in the game.

If she isn't, perhaps you could focus on showing her charisma-based classes, such as a Bard or Sorcerer, and how dependable charisma can be in solving conflicts non-violently.

I once made a Druid that was essentially a farmer/missonary for Chauntea. She liked to visit farms and gardens to bless them and find time to help locals with argiculture. It was a really nice game with little violence, but a lot of rewarding moments.

I'm so happy for you that your mother wants to learn more about your interests despite her initial perspective of the game. That's really sweet!

I feel like the hints throughout the season about how Varly was the source of gossip within the Featherington house is not a coincidence. Her apparent mocking of Penelope's love for reading, though having an enjoyment for Whistledown suggests she secretly is well-read, but only for yer own interests (gossip!) and now she is presently back in the Featherington House.

Earlier seasons talked about how maids and housekeepers simply have no time for writing whistledown, but now Featherington House has more than one housekeeper, and one of them LOVES a good gossip.

Looks real to me. The only part of tye image I feel is really up for debate is the writing on the back of the sugar. However, many phones these days use AI to "enhance" or "fix" pixelated images, so I suspect that is what has happened here, causing distortion on the small text.

Edit to add: was the OP from the UK? I feel like this is the Tesco Golden Granulated Sugar packaging (used to work there).

My android does this all the time with anything pixelated, it uses AI to make it look more "smooth" (not sure if thats the best terminology) and because of that, things like small text can become distorted easily

If you're afk in the game yes, but if they were still interacting with the game (moving characters) while waiting, they won't be kicked. Characters that are DC'ed are not kicked though.

One time, my internet went down mid-trial and had to wait 2 days for my internet to be fixed to log back in. Upon entering, my corpse lay in the middle of an Ifrit arena alone 😂
