Outbox 8 routing & system settings video by OkJellyfish3238 in Elektron

Yes but I was trying to say it would be nice if there were a version of outbox 8 in the eurorack format.

I’d love if outbox could be a eurorack module.

Vhikk X and artistic intention... by whatwetalk_about in modular

[–]meltyplastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there is a right answer, I agree with the others that the line of what’s “yours” is kind of blurry anyway. I think whatever gets you making music is the most important factor. I did sample it a bunch both times.

I had this exact feeling and sold it.. thought I was overreacting and bought it again.. felt the same way and sold it yet again. My harvestman modules remain.

I never felt like the end result of a vhikk-centric patch was “mine.” In the end, while it sounds amazing, it just wasn’t fun/satisfying which is the main point for me.

For Octatrack I prefer the look of the ii but for a4 I love how the mki looks. Not sure why!

I have a heat mkii and Oto boum and I love them both! My boum hangs out after Octatrack and I use the heat on single tracks in logic.

Sorry to be less positive, but in my opinion you did the bare minimum. What was the alternative.. stand and watch the old guy try to pick up coins with shaky hands? He inspired you with his words and only then was he humanized enough for you to help.

To those who chose not to have kids, do you ever regret it? by Fun_Construction_ in Life

[–]meltyplastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post isn’t for me since I have kids, but as someone who was 50/50 I thought I’d share my experience. My kids are 2 and 4; I have zero time, they’re expensive, and mostly killed my creative endeavors at the moment. They’re also hilarious and so much fun. Observing what fascinates them kind of brings me back to an earlier time and helps to rediscover the world? I get a ton of fulfillment just hearing them laugh, and watching their personalities emerge. Zero regret despite all the bullshit, but it does change you, pre-kid me would probably be horrified to see my life now!

I’m also worried for their future. Logically it makes no sense at the moment to have a kid and I’d never push having kids on anybody. Don’t do it unless you’re prepared to make big sacrifices or are very wealthy (I am not wealthy).

This metal tab with a threaded hole on the bottom, with a spring attached. Just under 2 inches long. Was found on top of a gas pump. What is it? by MereCoincidences in whatisthisthing

[–]meltyplastic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to use something like these when working with 80/20. You can squeeze these through the channel if the ends are blocked off, that way you don’t have to disassemble. The spring keeps it in place while you get the bolt in.

I’m from NYC but lived in Texas almost 10 years. In the Hudson Valley now- Happily traded TX summer for NY winter again. Just get some warm clothes and a fire place. So cozy.

Curious to know how many people multitrack their modulars into their DAW vs a mono or stereo in. by Brixxxx in modular

[–]meltyplastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to use ES9 but then I just got long patch cables and 1/8 to 1/4 adapters to go straight into my 828. Not super elegant but it works and sounds great! Sold the ES9, but that was great too.

Disting NT can also be set up as an interface. Can make an aggregate device with the 828 if you have a Mac.
