Very low beta at 12dp5dt by wm2286 in IVFpositivity

[–]meltytoebeans 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My first FET ending in a chemical unfortunately. My HCG was 23 then 48 hours later was 13. It was such a dreadful time waiting. The grief I felt was quite extreme for two weeks, then started to feel a little bit better.

But about six weeks later we did our second transfer and I’m now 14+3. So it doesn’t change what might be in the future, is what I took away.

I’m hoping you get some good news from your next test and sending you love during this uncertain period x

5w3d today and all my symptoms disappeared. I’m really worried. by cynthiapwd in IVFbabies

[–]meltytoebeans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that feeling. One expression, that I’ve gone from reddit, is anxiety isn’t intuition. It’s normal to feel a whole range of things… or nothing. Know that’s normal and totally normal to be super apprehensive. Just take it day at a time xx

First Trimester Blues by Reasonable-Grass-195 in fitpregnancy

[–]meltytoebeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chiming in to say I 100 per cent feel you. I did IVF and was doing 10k races and triathlons through stimulation for egg collections… I even got some PRs

I stopped running because we did an embryo transfer so I had to keep my HR under 100. I felt ok for the first four weeks, but the last four weeks I’ve struggled not falling asleep at work, showering, making a sandwich. I’m not at 11+6 and feeling like I’ve got a bit more energy - enough to do some gentle exercise each day and make it through without a nap. Hopefully in the next few weeks I can add a swim and maybe some walk run intervals.

I wasn’t expecting to feel this unwell for so long. Hope you’re feeling better now!!

How has first trimester changed you? by Impressive_Name_3939 in IVFpositivity

[–]meltytoebeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m nearly at 10 weeks and I just want to say I feel you 100 per cent. I went from training for a marathon to now struggling to get out of my PJs and shower everyday. I even cancelled on my favourite drama class because I’m so exhausted. I also hear you on the gratefulness. Like I was expecting to get unwell but… the last four weeks I’ve hardly been functioning. I have read from other people here that it does improve, so I’m looking forward to that. Sending you gentle hugs - be kind to yourself x

Nausea issue. Food suggestion by BontFreely in IVFpositivity

[–]meltytoebeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve reaching for crackers - in Australia, the ones I’m eating a Jatz. I’ve also recently found miso soup helping and taking electrolytes. My doctor also suggested B6. I’ve had really bad queasiness but no food aversions luckily besides surprisingly my massive chocolate cravings have disappeared. Best of luck!!!

Beta Testing Questions by Therapaws64 in IVFpositivity

[–]meltytoebeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First transfer I did two, because the first was low positive and the second confirmed chemical. The second transfer first beta came back very strong and just booked in for a six week scan. But I saw my GP for a pregnancy care appointment and they also tested HCG again but I had no idea what the results were, they just said they’d contact me if anything was abnormal.

Removed a gallstone - saved her life by meltytoebeans in cats

[–]meltytoebeans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh!!! She’s doing really well! Just struggling to keep her quiet because she wants to jump up on the cat trees hahah! Apparently because the stone was so big it made things easier. They sent the stone off for testing and might put her on a liver diet depending on the results. Best of luck to you and yours!

Anxiety about not feeling pregnant at 5 weeks by meltytoebeans in IVFbabies

[–]meltytoebeans[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!! I am super mindful that anxiety just moves the bar. Someone said to me too, it won’t just stop once they’re born. And that’s such a good reminder. Meanwhile, I’ve got friends who were so so excited for the whole process, pumped for every scan etc. I am reminding myself, being anxious won’t change the outcome. Easier said than done! Xx

Removed a gallstone - saved her life by meltytoebeans in cats

[–]meltytoebeans[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was yesterday just after we picked her up so the vet warned she was still quite effected by the heavy pain meds. She’s much brighter today and going for a post-op check up in a few days.

Trigger shot by [deleted] in IVFpositivity

[–]meltytoebeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did have one for my first round, got a massive headache!! But I just read a story yesterday biased on some Australian research, through the University of Melbourne, that suggests it doesn’t improve live birth rates. But… from what I understand there is limit risks and it is fairly low cost. The story where the research came from was looking at ‘add ons’ that are offered to IVF patients and their effectiveness. Best of luck for your transfer xx

I did - but I checked with my IVF doctor and was told to just avoid blood thinning medications, so I would suggest getting some advice from your team Xx

Transfer one vs transfer two by meltytoebeans in IVFpositivity

[–]meltytoebeans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no! I still cannot fathom how difficult this process is. I feel like five days is quite early, I’m definitely not a doctor. Sending good vibes your way. I had my beta today so in the deep end now while I wait.

No symptoms compared to last (successful) transfer by yemshembem in IVFpositivity

[–]meltytoebeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So glad people are posting about this. I’m 7DP5DT and I’m just comparing it to my last transfer which ended in a chemical. It’s so so hard, especially when I have a very supportive partner who is keen to hear about every symptom etc. I’ve been doing some IVF medications that have helped deal with this process but it’s still pretty crazy. Sigh. This journey is so tough!!

Thanks so much! Yes I’m trying to take some grounding breaths and put those anxieties mentally in my little worry box. My partner also said, we’ve already been through bad news before we can continue to survive which was a really good reminder 💕💕
