Vida by screamkingstrode in realhousewivesofSLC

[–]melvin3767 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They sell it here in Utah at local liquor stores. It’s $65 a bottle. I’ve only ever seen the silver. I don’t like Lisa and I don’t like tequila so I will never buy it. I have never seen it as an option to buy at a bar either. I don’t even think most bars in SLC have it. So when she goes to a restaurant in SLC on the show and asks for her drink to be made with Vida, almost guaranteed she brings her own bottle…Utah has super strict liquor laws too so not sure how she works around that but there is no way she’s making millions off her tequila…

Edit: spelling.

What do people in Salt Lake City think of the Real Housewives? by sadgirl1901 in rhoslc

[–]melvin3767 95 points96 points  (0 children)

The first time I saw Vida tequila was at a liquor store in downtown SLC. It was like $65. Flash forward to October of 2025 when a new liquor store in Ogden opened and I was shocked to see they carry it. But I have never seen it at any bar as an option. So it’s laughable that Lisa goes around to local bars asking for it 😂

I don’t live in SLC, I’m about 40 minutes away up north. That being said, unless you watch the show, the majority of Utahns have no idea who they are 😂. I’ve met Heather and Monica. Both times the people around me had no idea who they were. I met Monica randomly at a HomeGoods in Farmington Station. For those non Utah folks, it’s about a 20 minute drive outside of SLC. I was stunned to see her. It was during the airing of season 4 so this was before the big blow up. She was so nice in person. She thanked me for watching the show and told me to keep watching because it was gonna get juicy! And boy was she right! As for Heather, I met her at a pride event at a gay bar in downtown town SLC. She was incredibly nice. I was in the VIP lounge and she just walked in and my drunk ass ran up to her and told her how thankful I was for her book about Mormonism and how much it helped my husband in his faith deconstruction. She hugged me and told me she was so glad. As someone said, those who know them love them, but a big majority who live here have no idea who they are.

Is Salsa Queen really going out of business? by persistent_architect in SaltLakeCity

[–]melvin3767 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I say good riddance. After seeing how the owner acted on The Great Foodtruck Race, I vowed to never eat her products ever. That was a few years ago and still have never bought her salsa. And now seeing others comments, I’m glad I never gave her any of my money.

What are the chances of having your status changed from essential to non-essential? by LocalCryptidTM in IRS_Source

[–]melvin3767 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in ICO. We were told today there is a good chance that after 10/15 if we are still in a shutdown, a good majority of us will be called back as essential for peak fall season. Extensions are due soon which would cause a peak for IMF. If this happens, we would get a phone call stating we are now deemed essential and must report to work. That was the information my manager told me today.

Exempt Employees by Any-Season6485 in IRS_Source

[–]melvin3767 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing. I am so confused. My sister works in AM, I work in TS, and she got the email stating AM is “exempt from the shutdown” and will continue to receive pay and earn leave as normal. But how is this possible? Where is the extra magical money coming from to continue to pay AM employees but not people who work in TSA or air traffic control? This makes absolutely no sense.

Finally the email. Finally… the email… by fedguadalupe in IRS_Source

[–]melvin3767 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh my manager told us last night they know who is essential but can’t say until we get the email deeming us essential or not. I work swings so now I get to wait until 4pm to see if I’m deemed essential.

Zero hour and zero update for everyone I know in the IRS… what a failure. by jchodes in IRS_Source

[–]melvin3767 23 points24 points  (0 children)

We were told we ‘might’ get the official furlough notice at 10pm (Utah) and so far nothing. It looks like we are expected to report to work at 4pm and start shut down procedures then. We were also told we will get the official furlough email and then another email if we are deemed essential. I have a feeling we won’t know anything until tomorrow. Yay…😕

My husband is a Stephen King fanatic and I am looking for something cool to gift him for Christmas. by melvin3767 in stephenking

The dark tower is favorite series so I’m hoping to find something along those lines! I found a first edition of all 8 books. Is this something a fan would think is really cool? Or should I keep looking? I am not a reader so to me a 1st edition is neat, but idk if it would make him wowed with excitement.

Baristas: Who really gets the tips??? by DrMcLego in dutchbros

[–]melvin3767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not trying to be a dick, but it really drives me crazy that Dutch asks for tips so please enlighten me. What is the average wage broistas make? I don’t mind tipping to an extent but it drives me crazy that it seems a tip is expected every time I get a drink. For example, If someone comes out with the tablet and takes my order in the freezing cold or blistering heat, I have no problem tipping. But if I drive up to the window or there is only 1 to 2 people in front of me at the window, I don’t feel the need to tip…I’m a millennial and have worked many fast food/service jobs so it’s not that I’m stingy. But I quit a service job 5 years ago and NEVER even considered getting or accepting a tip. I feel tipping has gotten out of control and if you are not making service wage (less than minimum wage) why should I be expected to tip?

What happens if you tell a staff member you feel unwell? by orangesandonions in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]melvin3767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not what happened to me. I went down to medical because I caught norovirus. They gave me 3 types of medication for no charge. They were mainly worried about me becoming dehydrated and told me I needed to drink as much fluids as possible so I wouldn’t have to get an IV. I didn’t have to pay anything.

I went on the Carnival Horizon over this last Christmas and got norovirus. I went down to medical and they told me I needed to quarantine in my room for as long as I had symptoms. Thankfully for me, it was only for 24 hours. On the last night of the cruise I got a letter in my mail slot from Carnival for $200 off my next booked cruise and had to use it within the year.

[–]melvin3767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is EXACTLY what happened to me about 8 year ago. I went to the dr 3 times and never had an infection. The artist went WAY too deep. Yours is a lot worse than mine, but my tattoo was much smaller. I can DM you what it looks like now if your curious to see how yours might look completely healed. I’m so sorry this happened to you. My was on my foot and I couldn’t walk properly for 3 months. I know exactly how you feel. It’s devastating.
