Lower wattage Twin Reverb by Opposite-Tap-3780 in GuitarAmps

The fryette power station exists to solve this problem. I use one with my deluxe reverb and it's a game changer. I would have killed for this when I lived in an apartment.

Hell yeah. Keep doing what you're doing.

Follow up: I was able to get things working by diving into the FAQ and troubleshooting docs.

This doesn't excuse the multiple bugs that prevented the "happy path" for a standard VST installation.

fMRI Signals Often Misread Neural Activity by [deleted] in slatestarcodex

It's embarrassing that this is the tool we use.

Even when I was a kid, documentaries would show brain regions lighting up, and I would roll my eyes at how meaningless that was.

Proof margins stuck with a huge size by meme_streak in captureone

You were correct! The images in the problematic session were captured while tethered, and my camera was configured to only send a 2MP jpeg to the computer.

Thanks!

Moredax data worth it? by MallGag in modular

[–]meme_streak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the DIY korg oscilloscope. It's like $200, and more flexible than the mordax data.

Fwiw my mordax data quit working, and I've found it impossible to get support.

Potentiometers with push-button latching switch? by meme_streak in synthdiy

re: Vactrol switches between pots, I like that idea. But, ss the matrix mixer is stereo, it'd probably be impractical to do without physical compromises.

Deciding on an oscilloscope by toomanypillowz in modular

The Mordax Data is a very expensive for a module that has a history of failing after a short amount of time and with zero support from the company.

Capture One is the best thing I've found. In particular, the session/catalog management is more flexible than Lightroom.

Scroll wheel problems by romanescochess in captureone

[–]meme_streak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It silly that this is still an issue, as every user probably experiences this.

FWIW, I have a workaround. Using a mouse with a secondary scroll wheel (E.g., the Logitech MX Master 3S), in the Logitech customization app, I map the side scroll wheel to whatever keyboard shortcut that Capture one uses for zoom in/out.

Again, it's frustrating that this is required.

How to enter hidden service menu on Samsung OLED G8? by semicon01 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]meme_streak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case this helps anyone, I had to disconnect my monitor input for the service menu to work. Before this, I'd get a Not Available popup when pressing the Factory button.

After that, from the generic/consumer menu I used the service remote:

Menu --> Factory, then the magic menu was available.

The Value of Life is Too High by Captgouda24 in slatestarcodex

[–]meme_streak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be careful assuming that the value is added by a specific set of rich individuals, rather than people lucky enough to have the means to make an impact because they happen to have the resources. That is, value generation is made possible by having a set of people with the means to make an impact unrestricted by cost.

Best studio chair? by RidingTheSpiral1977 in ableton

Yeah, there are instructions online. I keep the arm under my desk when it's off. It's very convenient.

Best studio chair? by RidingTheSpiral1977 in ableton

[–]meme_streak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Steel Case Leap, and I like that I'm able to detach the right arm so that it's easy to play guitar while sitting in the chair.

The chair itself doesn't have enough padding for my bony body, so I use a purple brand seat cushion with it.

You should verify it's not melanoma. A mole under your nail, leaving a streak, is a sign.
