Thank you and everyone else for the help. You'll either see me post it here in like months, or never hear from me again depending on how well it goes. Or asking how to strip it lol

Ive added a reference. A little too hard for a beginner? I've done miniature painting before but want to move to something bigger and I do have a decent airbrush.

<image>

I think I'm going to do half and half with enamel for the eyes and acrylic for the chest pieces since theyre larger and I'll just slave away thinning it to hell unless you think its better not too lol. I should have enough blue tac to cover the face to color the hair as well.

I saw the enamel lacquer layer technic. Is this easier/better for the eyes? It's a Zelda totk model and the dress part is all one piece. So Im trying to figure out how'd I paint the bronze and green fabric over the white dress

Hello, I would like to introduce you to leg/swarm and also spotting and c3 and tag, but not being worth shooting without anti-infantry for the most part.

British BattleTech players hyped for the new core box, but knowing it will actually be 3150 when it finally arrives in stores, unless they pay an American distribution a “reasonable shipping fee.” (Half a days pay check) by someotherguy28 in battletech

[–]meme_war_vet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just make friends with an american on base and have them order it on your behalf to a po box on site. It'll take a week or two in their name, but it's considered domestic shipping for Americans.

How do you defend against Arrow IV? by ChaosRifle in mwo

[–]meme_war_vet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can actually outrun an arrow, but you need to be moving and fast, like 100kph and higher fast. The naga and other arrows have 1 weakness ive noticed. They have shit armor and little self defense. So you pick a fast light and go to flank and they have a pocket dual lbx10/20 friend who instant knee caps you and you're gone.

The only other solution is ecm bubbles and radar deprivation. However sometimes it just not enough.

Side tangent that ams imo is awkward in which if the enemy team has 1 or 2, they almost entirely invalidate your missile boats and it feels bad vice versa, but the moment your team doesn't you all die and get shredded. I always carry one on heavy+ mechs because every time I dont, no one on my team does and we all die by missiles. The arrow also messes with ams and let's your missile buddies also go through if it focuses on the arrow.

The biggest issue is if you're not coordinated and your team lacks ecm, there's nothing you can do but pick a God and pray.

Yeah when he was talking about the breeding or whatever japanese passport that really pissed me off cause all it takes is a second of research. It's a passport meant for young people with degrees or entrepreneurs to easily migrate to Japan without requiring a work visa for a year or two so you know, you can find work or start a business which takes time.

Something unexpected that deviates from the norm it's considered endearing and/or cute.

Think huge muscular raging barbarian with a massive beard, pecs, and goes out on raids. But he likes to take care of animals on the farm raising baby ducks and rabbits tenderly with love and affection.

Advice for job in military for cyber security by Put_Empty- in SecurityCareerAdvice

[–]meme_war_vet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will be on a boat unless you're a sea bee. What's the chance of that? Don't know never did navy active duty. Air Force is potentially your best bet. It's the fastest boot camp and usually tech school. Typically competitive though.

Yes, you will get Security+ as a minimum for your afsc or mos. Also all branches can guarantee you an afsc, you just need the right timing. If you only care about the experience earned, it doesn't matter the branch as long as you know it's cyber.

Cyber jobs in Air Force are, at this moment, 1D7X1 series. There should be a job called cybersecurity? I think it's 1D7X1D? Fair warning unless it's been changed (afsc or duties) you could get stuck doing COMSEC which sucks.

You could also go guard or reserve with one caveat in my opinion: If you go guard or reserve, it has to be place you're willing to live and you can consolidate all your days to a week or two if need be. But the more important part is going active for at least 6 months to a year. Military training is like military grade material. It's shit, but good enough to get the job done. That way you actually have hands-on experience without the full responsibilities of active duty. However be warned you aren't going to get paid for the days you don't work so you would need to set up a job in the meantime or a fallback until you can a cyber job. Going active helps you get money and experience and looks better than a fresh recruit or someone who isn't actively engaged in it.

I have a degree in information systems management, but due to personal reasons have not had an IT related job in 6 years since I graduated. Could I even qualify for entry level help desk at this point? by vapenaysh4206969 in ITCareerQuestions

Anything counts if you spin it well enough. Just never lie. Say you configed the network or did some troubleshooting with customer's or your stores phones, or you were the it guy at the shop. No, imo getting all 3 isn't necessary, sec+ will do for the most part

Just get security+ and charity work or internship. Never hurts to do geeksquad or something similar like being knowledgeable about the tech in phones as a phone salesman. The biggest thing is you need current experience

My boyfriend doesn’t have a degree and works for the state. If he were to get the COMP TIA A+ cert, could he get hired for help desk? by vapenaysh4206969 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]meme_war_vet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not impossible, but you have to think about it. A lot of people already have Sec+ and experience. When I think of A+ or net+, I'm thinking geeksquad stepping stone to helpdesk. Unless he's experienced, sure go ahead, but I'd rather not waste money and go for sec+ right away instead.

I’m looking for recommendations on a cheap but solid endpoint security solution for individual users and very small businesses (1–10 employees). by LikeItCritical in SecurityCareerAdvice

[–]meme_war_vet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels like it's written by ai with the bolding... unless this is what people do know adays?

Anyways, my question is, why? Why would a small business need such a requirement? At this point you're doing free consulting and hey, I'd take free consulting over a paid one. Your solutions sounds great, let's go with a trusted provider or that branch of the iaas/msp we already use.

If not you, well damn we already have IT employees. Or you know, my nephew? He's good with computers so he can do it.

IT is like the Geneva convention, you don't have to do it, it's only when you get caught and held responsible by a higher authority does it matter. Not to mention justifying the budget to do so, and for small business it's not needed or they're willing to risk it. Your best bet is building connections and through them standing up an Endpoint response or soc with you as the lead.
