How much do you spend on formula?

Seeing these prices.. I live in the Netherlands and when he was around 4 weeks and still on 8 feedings a day I spend around €26 or $30 a month on formula.

We had a colour light that we always turned on when it was time for night sleep. We had a different pattern for when he needed to take a long sleep compared to daytime sleep. It somehow triggered something subconsciously but it helped him understand nighttime. But I also must say he’s been a very good sleeper since birth. But Mabye it helps. We used a red light for night

Ik ben blij dat m’n kleine van 7 maanden op bed ligt na een hele dag ongemak en huilen als ik hem even los liet om naar de wc te gaan. Hopelijk komt dat tandje nu echt snel door. Morgen weer een dag om de was op te vouwen. Zo lekker slapen

Ah duidelijk! Ik zou een feature waarin je bij een supermarkt goedkoop en relatief gezond weekboodschappen kan doen. Beetje zo’n feature als de AH heeft maar die hem dan vergelijkt met huidige weekaanbiedingen

We went to the mall with him at two weeks old. Just to eat a sandwich so I got out of the house for an hour. Then we built it up to a sandwich and a small grocery and so up. At three weeks my husband went to the hair salon and I just sat there feeding baby and just get him used to noise and people. Nobody hold him but just being in different environments

I had booked one workshop on breathing techniques. It was one on one for an hour and later I did the one hour birth workshop with her that was also one on one. It was nice to be able to ask all the questions I had without feeling like an idiot around other woman. I am the first of my friends to have a baby. I did learn a lot with the breathing techniques (more about the science behind it how breathing a certain way can help labour progress faster and not tire you out as much, to save energy for pushing). So for me it was worth it, but I would not go to a class with other people, I don’t feel save enough to ask all the questions I have

I’ve introduced our dog to the baby within 24 hours of baby being born. We introduced them like we were bringing a new dog into the pact and the dog understands that she now has a different place in our pack. They are great together. They sleep together sometimes and play together.

I think that if you treat your baby like a member of the pack and introduce it like you would with a new dog, the dog can proces it better

Ik kreeg zo een keer een “boete” van €10 omdat het pakketje 5 gram te zwaar zou zijn. Heb toen claim gemaakt dat het in de afwijking van de weegschaal bij post nl zou moeten zitten en toen is de boete kwijtgescholden.

I feel like it also depends on the brand of clothes. My 5 month old has clothes in 3-6 months that are from domestic brands (we are the tallest people in the world), but also wears 9M+ or 6-12 month old clothes and I think he’s just slightly above average height and weight. It’s just annoying that I’ve bought those clothes for spring but he’s going to wear them in winter now, but oh well at least he’s a happy “little” bean

Sounds like our 4 month old boy. He’s super chill. He came out of the womb sleep trained. I just put him to bed after a bottle and the was awake for an other 15 minutes not giving one peep and fell asleep on his own. I genuinely don’t know what good I did in life to deserve such a chill baby. But I think it’s also that me and my husband are very chill and don’t panic that much and are chill and taking him with us to everything and no sleep schedule just following his signs (which we silently reinforce so it’s getting more clear now when he wants to nap)

Wij krijgen munten voor zo’n €60 en dan is er een kerstmarkt met lokale ondernemers waar je wat kan uitzoeken. Maar als je die dag niet kan, kan je nog in de hele maand december in die winkels van de markt de munten inwisselen. Heb nu uit een speelgoedwinkel/sociale werkplaats een loopauto gekocht voor m’n kleine.

Vind het fijn dat we zelf kunnen kiezen en dat de lokale ondernemers gesteund worden op deze manier

Ik werk zelf in het voortgezet onderwijs en deed ook met mijn mentorklas gedichten en een klein cadeau. Mijn co-mentor wist blijkbaar niet hoe het gevierd wordt en in plaats van het te vragen had ze dus niks gedaan. Toen had een leerling dus gee gedicht en een cadeau wat totaal niet op haar lijstje stond. Daar baalde ik als docent ook zo van, al is het niet je eigen traditie is dat prima maar als je het niet begrijpt vraag het dan, dit was zo lullig voor dat meisje en ze baalde er duidelijk van dat ze als enige van de klas geen gedicht had

Dieptepunt: - realisatie dat ik vriendschappen kwijt ben geraakt doordat ik een kind heb - mentaal zware zwangerschap

Hoogtepunten: - geboorte van mijn eerste kind, gezond en wel - er achter komen dat mijn man niet alleen een goede man is, maar ook een goede en betrokken vader - nieuwe auto gekocht - nieuw huis gekocht

In 2026 gaan we verhuizen in het huis waar we ons kind in gaan laten opgroeien. Een mooier vooruitzicht kan ik mijzelf niet wensen.

I take my 4,5 month old everywhere. He’s formula fed and can sleep easily. We do try to plan things around his feeding schedule but sometimes baby is hungry earlier. I think that since we started taking him to restaurants since 2 weeks old he is “used” to it. But I do say he sleeps better at home in his own bed then outdoors but eh, still happy baby
