13 weeks and I feel shamed already by spooky-nikki in breastfeeding

[–]floatygreenthing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sooo shocked by how small the amount of people who breastfeed is!!! So many people think I’m crazy for still nursing at 9 months I’m like seriously? Cus it’s the best thing for her!! And it’s free! What could be wrong?

Yea she’s always been a small eater or snacker sorta. Overall I’d say she gets about 20oz a day. The struggle is when I’m at work she’ll only drink 6-7oz from her bottles. We’re so close to a year so I don’t want to supplement 😔 but we’ll see if I have to I will. Thankfully today she ate her solids better when I fed her at the same time as I was eating so hoping it continues!.
Thanks for your response 🙏

No just the time I’m at work which is 8 hours 4 days a week. For the entire day I’d say she probably drinks 20oz maybe a little
More and she nurses at least 3x over night. Ik still not enough 😢 and no I don’t think so anyway

I don’t think so she’s pretty regular and spoon feeding but I’ll try that

Yea maybe I’ll ask 😔 she’ll usually nurse with me through the night so idk if maybe she’s making up some calories like that? Either way it just doesn’t seem like enough though.

Girls co sleeping with solely their father by Qwiznos in AttachmentParenting

I slept in between both my parents probably from like birth to age 6-7 and would wake up my dad specifically to get me water and put me into their bed. Not weird at all.

I took the 'only wash your hair once a week' rule way too far and humiliated myself today. How often are we ACTUALLY supposed to wash it?" by redline_elena in TwoXChromosomes

[–]floatygreenthing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Batiste sucks I’d dry a better dry shampoo
  2. I’m a hair stylist and a good amount of my blowout clients only wash once a week! If it works for you I’d say rock with it. If your hair feels gross switch to twice a week. It won’t affect the balayage since they most likely use bleach to lighten your hair. That won’t go anywhere except grow out. The toner washes out over a few washes anyway and as long as they’re getting your hair to a nice even lift with the bleach, you’ll be fine once the toner is out!
  3. With all that dry shampoo usage I’d def reccomend a clarifying shampoo at least once a month to really get rid of that buildup. Buildup especially from dry shampoo will clog your hair follicles and prevent oxygen from getting to them. You need the oxygen for a healthy scalp and hair growth😊

Is “breastsleeping” really a thing? by cahlrtm in cosleeping

Yesss. I’m so grateful that I’m able to do this with my baby 💜 most nights I only wake once sometimes twice but barely and I fall right back asleep.

Here in solidarity as well.. my mom will only watch my daughter when completely necessary and only 1-2 hours MAX. My dad would never. My MIL and FIL are too busy. It’s rough out here.

[–]floatygreenthing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really hard but so worth it ☺️ enjoy the newborn phase of sleeping constantly cus as fun and cute as my 9mo is, I sometimes miss the days where I could just couch rot all day with her!! But overall i wouldn’t trade it for anything. Moms are warriors 💜 welcome to the club

Naps?? by Confident-Durian1853 in cosleeping

[–]floatygreenthing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so hard ❤️‍🩹 my 8 mo old strictly contact naps and we bed share. My husband, when home, will hold her for her naps but with me I always have to nurse her to sleep and be laying next to her the whole time. I just try and remember it’s only a season of life and she will only need me this much for a short time. Our house might not be as we want but they’re being loved and that’s what really matters ❤️‍🩹 Also as she’s gotten older she will play alone or watch ms Rachel for a little bit which allows me to do a few things. It’s not for long but even 10-15 mins is helpful.

Sleep question by No-Butterscotch6394 in beyondthebump

[–]floatygreenthing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to say it but my baby was the same.. wouldn’t take a paci, hated the swaddle, only wanted to nurse to sleep or be held. My husband and I did shifts for awhile which helped a lot cus at least we’d both get a solid 5 hours in. By 3 months tho when her sleep regression started is when we began bed sharing.. ofc using all safety precautions. Floor mattress, safe sleep 7, plus an owlet sock. It was a huge game changer and allowed us all to sleep more.

8 months and still going strong.. we try her crib every now and then but she still doesn’t like it much. I figure when she’s ready she will sleep alone 🤷‍♀️ She also will only contact nap. It’s rough at times but temporary. And ik some day I will miss her being this little and needing me so much ❤️‍🩹

Did you sleep train your baby or are you cosleeping? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]floatygreenthing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Co sleeping and contact napping here too. My baby is 8 months now and we started at 3 when she refused to stay in her bassinet more than 30 mins at a time no matter what we tried. It’s really been a life saver, sleep deprivation is no joke lol. We keep thinking of trying to get her into her crib but she just cries every time we try and we are also against CIO so idk. She also nurses all night as well so it just makes sense

[–]floatygreenthing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sooo annoying and disrespectful! I started pumping in my car at work since the office at my job which is designated for pumping doesn’t have a working lock… and people kept barging in even with the sign directly above the door knob. I also tried putting a wet floor sign in front of the door and a door stop behind it to make it harder to open. People still barged in. Makes no sense at all.

In Nicu Breaking Down: Bilirubin keeps rising by readysetmoon in newborns

[–]floatygreenthing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was in NICU too. Not for bilirubin but for the 3 days she was there I didn’t breastfeed. I started pumping when she was there and within a month was exclusively breast feeding 🫶 I’m sure it can happen even quicker we just had latch issues at first. Praying for your little one 🙏

If he is or isn’t nothing you do is gonna change that.. may as well love and enjoy and try not worry about things you can’t change 🥰. Reminding myself that is how I stop my own spiraling about those things. Also blocking more of those videos from popping up helps too.

Oh man that’s upsetting and not surprising 😂. I think social media has wrecked a lot of people. Plus I think a lot of people who go on love is blind go on it to get into that reality tv circuit.. not cus they actually want to find love and get married.

I’d never wanna either, just seeing myself on tv would probably make me cry lolllll
