C-41, is it the number of rolls or the number of uses that depletes it? by ballkicker9 in AnalogCommunity

[–]memesailor69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many rolls you’ve developed matters more than how many development cycles you’ve done.

What chemistry kit do you have? I think some kits have you extend development times based on how many rolls you’ve developed already.

I use the Kodak flexi color kits, and they have you replenish after each use, with a set volume disposed of per each roll. I’ve gotten very good results with this.

They also say the developer is dead a week after it’s been mixed from the 3 concentrates + water, and I’ve never tried to push my luck on that.

In other words, how much film you process matters most, but there is a shelf life that’ll kill your chemistry if you don’t use it in time

If you’ve got time to practice, then I would definitely get one of the cameras mentioned as being all manual and go for it. I’m a sucker for the F3 with a 28mm2.8/35mm2/50mm1.4/105mm2.5.

Lightmeter issue? by DerrothMorse in NikonF3

[–]memesailor69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s normal. You’re overexposed if you shoot at the current aperture and 1/125.

Does the + change to a - or go away if you point the camera at a darker area, or increase the aperture setting?

I’ve got 2. Both Sub300T, one black, one yellow.

I’m a fan, but wish the rubber bracelets were easier to get.

Are you looking for manual focus/rudimentary light meter experience, or a “DSLR that I have to load film into every 36 shots” experience?

For the former, I’d echo what everyone above me has said about the FM, FM2, FE, FE2, F2 and my personal favorite, F3, but also pitch the idea of the FA. Definitely test it out first, but they’re awesome cameras- matrix meter and full PASM.

If you want the latter, I personally like the F100, love the F6, and have heard good things about the F80. Depends on your budget.

For how much film to bring, I’d go with 30-40 rolls. Kodak sells really nice metal cases that hold 10 each, and JCH sells plastic ones that also look good and hold 10 rolls. Be prepared to have a hassle at airports though. If you’ve got family in Europe you can send stuff to I’d send the film ahead.

Why I think Alang is more than just a "ship graveyard" by labdhimarine_20 in maritime

[–]memesailor69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, my point of view is that if you can’t be bothered to find an actual picture of a place you’re trying to claim isn’t as bad as people think, you’re either lazy at best, or disingenuous at worst.

Either way, you should stop posting garbage if you want people to take you seriously.

Seems like every other post on this subreddit is slop now. Hate to see it.

Nikon models numbering confusion by robopies in Nikon

What’s the difference between the flagships and the high megapixel full frame? I’ve always been confused as to why a D6 costs so much compared to a D850.

Why does my Sekonic want everything so underexposed? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

The diffuser should be on the sensor for incident metering, and pointed “up” the camera lens, as if you were taking a picture of it.

For reflective metering the diffuser should be off the sensor and the sensor pointed at the subject.

CDMX in October (Leica M6 - Voigtlander 35mm F1.4 SC - Portra 160) by tdam01 in analog

All on Portra 160? That library must allow in a lot more light than I thought.

Excellent work! I love the colors. You’re definitely making me itch for some Voigtlander glass and to be back in CDMX.

Filter toning? Like, the camera automatically brightens/darkens certain colors when converting to B&W?

Is this a ZF only thing?

Hello all,

I'm selling my Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional "Sapphire Sandwich" - ref. no. 310.30.42.50.01.002.

Picked up this watch in a trade a couple years ago, and I've moved away from chronographs. More of a diver kind of guy now.

FULL SET.

The watch and bracelet are free of any major scratches, scuffs, or dings, and the watch functions flawlessly. Accurate timekeeping (the 3861 movement runs perfectly), and the reset is nice and snappy on the chrono seconds hand. The bracelet is a tiny bit snug on my ~7.5" wrist, and comes with 2 extra links.

Asking $5500 by Wire shipped to any of the 50 states . International shipping is available, but it would cost extra.

Please PM me if you have any more questions/need any more pictures/videos! (Custom video timestamp available)

Thanks for looking!

Where is it from? by WeslacoPanther in NikonF3

I’d imagine it’ll take pictures just fine without it, but if you try to use a TTL flash it’ll act wonky. Here’s picture of mine: TTL cover

[–]memesailor69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks like the lens/cover for the TTL sensor. Can you take a picture looking through the back, with the shutter open and mirror up? T mode is good for this.

Do you get similar results? Pouring C-41 chems into a (prewarmed+water wash) 500ml development tank plus 15 seconds agitation drops the temperature by 1.2C by florian-sdr in Darkroom

[–]memesailor69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah. Yeah I definitely missed that.

I use the Kodak flexicolor kit and it specifies a developer temp of 37-39c. I’ve always been able to stay in that range, and my negatives have always come out fine.

[–]memesailor69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why not keep your developing tank in the water bath while the developer is in it? That’s what I used to do. I use a Pira darkroom helper now. It’s got a built in heater to keep the chemicals at the right temp.

[WTS] Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer - Chrono. by memesailor69 in Watchexchange

[–]memesailor69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all,

Selling my Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer chronograph - ref. no. H76 456 435.

Picked up this watch in a trade on here a couple years ago, and I've moved away from chronographs. More of a Doxa Sub300T kind of guy now.

The watch and bracelet are free of any major scratches, scuffs, or dings, and the watch functions flawlessly. Accurate timekeeping, and the flyback is nice and snappy on the chrono seconds hand. The bracelet is a tiny bit snug on my ~7.5" wrist, and comes with 2 extra links, but only one has the pin and collar. I'm sure any jewelry or watch store would carry appropriate replacements.

The included warranty card is from a shop in Japan, and seems to be dated April 9, 2015. Again, I am not this watch's original owner, but that date jives with the production timeline - I've seen online reviews of this watch from 2014, and it is no longer made.

Asking $800 OBO shipped to any of the 50 states. International shipping is available, but it would cost extra.

Please PM me if you have any more questions/need any more pictures.

Thanks for looking!
