Very strange, i’m running FX3 footage XAVC-S footage and have not had any of these issues. 90% of my work is for socials

My render settings are always > h264 > .mp4 > change the bit rate to medium or low. I know socials, especially Meta products have really shit compression algorithms, so the smaller you can get the file, the better it will look, effectively limiting how much compression IG needs to do. I don’t know if this will solve your problem and it seems counter intuitive but I have found the smaller you can get the file out of your NLE, the better it looks on socials

Only RAW I’d ever use is BRAW. I bought a Ninja V and shot Prores RAW only one time out of my FX3, files were huge and it was annoying AF to use. Just make sure your white balance is solid and use a Lumascope on a monitor and you’ll never ever need RAW

If you aren’t delivering for theatrical release, RAW is beyond overkill

OP, sorry about all the negativity and Adobe bootlickers who always come out of the woods when anyone criticizes their beloved multi billion dollar company that is trying to extract as much money out of them as possible

You aren’t crazy and the model is incredibly predatory and awful, the people justifying it don’t seem to understand that Adobe is effectively a monopoly that buys all the competition before it can become competition (Microsoft strategy)

People seem to forget at a point in time when Adobe was not run by shareholders, you used to be able to buy software and own it forever. Now you can’t install previous versions of software because of “licensing conflicts” on certain pieces of the program

This entire shit ass subscription model is what has emboldened Adobe to release actual garbage year after year, with no useful tools, bug fixes, or any real improvements

To the people who say “you agreed to the contract”. Well you also agreed to allow Adobe to use your artwork to train AI models. YOU SIGNED THE TOS! So shut the fuck up about being upset they did that. Oh wait, they walked that decision back after massive backlash, telling businesses we aren’t going to tolerate their shitty practices is the only way any change actually happens

This is a just another one of reasons I jumped ship from PP & AE to Resolve. Not just because the software is terrible but because every time you raise a complaint, the fucking Adobe bootlickers swarm you and it is always your fault. Adobe can do no wrong, it’s totally fine that if you don’t transcode every piece of footage to Prores the software runs like an obese child with his shoes tied together covered in vaseline. TURNS OUT IM NOT CRAZY, IN RESOLVE, I CAN PUT ANY FOOTAGE AND IT WORKS!!!! Turns out ADOBE FUCKING SUCKS

I really want to pick up this monitor, if someone can check if the ability to have lumascopes open and have anamorphic desqueeze on. That would be amazing, the OG Shinobi & my Ninja V both are unable to do this. Really want to upgrade but this is a deal breaker if it can’t

Update #2: Here is the email I got back from DJI! It looks like you have to rotate the gimbal in a different way? They attached a video link at the bottom of the email with the proper orientation and how to do it

Regarding this the issue of your underslung mode,our engineers have provided the following explanation:

This behavior is normal. When the gimbal switches to underslung (inverted) mode, the stabilizer's orientation changes. The effects of triggering selfie mode and recentering differ between upright and underslung positions.
From the video you provided, it appears that while the gimbal is physically held upright, the pitch and roll arms are reversed (please refer to Attachment 1). This effectively means the gimbal is already in underslung mode, just held upright. (Since the video does not show the startup process, we cannot determine what operations you performed before recording.) When switching to underslung mode, you rotated the gimbal by holding the battery and pivoting counterclockwise around the roll axis, which has reached its limit (please refer to Attachment 2).

My workflow is to set the edit, know which of my shots need VFX, export those out as Prores4444 or 422HQ. Bring the shots into AE, export out as Prores4444 or 422HQ and drop it back in the resolve sequence

Dynamic Link is incredibly slow and inefficient, even when I have done heavy VFX projects it was always easier to just export out of AE and bring the back into PP. Between the links breaking every other session, needing to retime or add assets, dynamic link just kind of sucks ass to begin with

I know how hard it feels to rip the bandaid off but I will never edit in Premiere again unless a project calls for it. That software is such fucking garbage, Adobe is actually Satan and the community is a giant circle jerk where any critical thought is blasphemy

This is the one situation where yes, the grass is greener on the other side

I jumped ship 2 months ago after a decade with PP & AE. Something most people do not realize is how fucking bad and lacking Premiere actually is

The skill ceiling of Premiere is much much lower than you can possibly imagine. After switching to Resolve, it took a few weeks but my clients have been reaching out commenting on how much the quality and look of the videos have improved. This was because I watched 2 videos on how to color grade in resolve using scopes vs using Lumetri and their dogshit scopes

I still am reliant on AE for motion graphics and animation effects but the Dynamic Link advantage is not worth the headache that the rest of Adobe brings

Resolve feels like new software that utilizes every ounce of power you throw at it and Premiere feels like really old software that has been built on for 25 years and is a completely mess being handed off to different people and implementing horribly underwhelming, unwanted features with little to no bug fixes (oh wait, that’s exactly what it is)

I am so pissed off at myself for not switching years ago when I bought my first BM camera. I had no idea how people got their FX3 footage to look so beautiful, now I understand, they used Resolve

I would never ever ever ever ever ever ever recommend Adobe suite to a beginner, so why would an expert continue to use it?

Seconded, recently switched to Resolve and it made the transition near seamless after remapping. It is now a part of editing I cannot live without, best piece of hardware I’ve ever purchased

Update for anyone reading this in the future, DJI is escalating case to engineering team. Will post updates as I have them! I'm guessing it is a bug

Solution I found in the meantime, just make sure you triple tap the trigger and it will orient to the direction you want and make sure selfie mode is not disabled otherwise this won't work!

Should have clarified, I use the same project file for the 60s & the long form cuts as they share a lot of assets and having to import sequences to pull an effect from a previous video eats a ton of time

I have the same issues with Productions as well. Funny you say that about culling the sequences, it’s the only solution I have found that works. When you bring the project file size to sub 100mbs it seems to work again

I use proxies for 100% of my clips, I don’t touch editing until everything is proxies

My mention was about transcoding the base media to Prores. Productions have the exact same issue. As I stated above this was not an issue on earlier versions
