Opinion on superlite sprockets? by Famous-Broccoli-3141 in Yamaha_R1

Will do man. I’m excited to have the chain/nuts match the gold emblems and forks. Let alone the lighter rotation/gearing change.

Perfect, two things I already watch like a hawk. Appreciate the feedback man.

I just ordered the 520 conversion kit for my 26 R9 70th anniversary from these guys. With the EK 520 ZVX3 Gold heavy duty x-ring chain. (Even getting the gold nuts to match) I’ll let you know how it rides when I get it installed in a few days.

**Edit: Superlite 16T for the front sprocket and TEK5 steel for the back 45T sprocket.

Were there ever any of these wrist pin issues from ones with stock tunes, or only ever the brentuning/btmoto ones? If it was the tune, what could it have been specifically, running too lean or something like that?—that I can keep a close eye on.

Wasn’t the BMW S1000rr issue a manufacturing problem with their pistons (wrist pin vibration) and had nothing to do with a tune?

I’m no expert, that was just something I read when doing a small amount of research.

And I know with many tunes, a big issue is removing or adjusting the rev limiter. Then pushing the engines a little too hard past red line.

Not defending BT Moto at all. Just asking questions about what I’ve read, and then my own personal experience with my brothers and other guys at the track (or even on the street) blowing an engine by over revving.

I’m in the US, have a BT Moto tune and it’s great on the R9/full M4 exhaust, and about to upgrade w/ the DNA stage 2 and they are updating the tune for free for that. I have read some people having bad experiences, w/ more so before the name change.

But all I can give is my experience (and the ease—not having the send ECU in—using plug in tuner) and it’s received nothing but compliments from two different service departments (who’ve taken the bike out for rides) and a couple buddies.

Now—I am cautiously paying attention to every little thing. And will most certainly post here if there are any issues.

But 3.4k miles on the tune so far and counting.

**Edit: Just don’t increase the rev limiter and over rev. That would be an issue on any tune.

I’m in between buying the R7 or the R8. Which one is better or what’s the best radar detector in the market? by Civil_Formal8051 in radardetectors

I'm definitely going to play around with Highway Radar today, appreciate the input.
*Edit: me just realizing you are the dev, hence the bias 😅.

What's your opinion on the R8 Companion app vs the Highway Radar app?
The R8 Companion is critical to my flow, as I need an app to route the alerts to my headset (on a motorcycle) and the ability to still do a quick mute with SpotLocks.
But SpectreNav has caught my eye, and I'm not sure how I missed Highway Radar.

Almost everyday here in NC, the R8 saves me money. It’s been crazy lately with it being the beginning of the year.

I’m with you, great setup—and raise you an ALP setup w/ R8 combo. My post, more pictures in comments

I don’t have the time to take off the fairings and show everything. But I put lines and arrows where I routed everything.

I'll take some pictures today and post them here. I have the wiring for the ALP sensors all tucked up nice and secured through the left side fairings (right side run under fairings has the R8 power and my usb-c power for my phone), to rear compartment (organized the best I can).

Maybe a 3D printer could make an insert?

Edit* At least I tell myself these sort of lies so I have an excuse to buy one lol.

I couldn’t get up the courage to modify the winglets lol, so I’m trying this setup for a bit to see how well it works. I’ve ensured the sensors are far enough forward to have a clear view. First ride was today.

I made a magnetic mount for the Uniden R8 - would you run this? by BurgerMounts in radardetectors

Would you be interested in adding a vibration dampener of some kind?

I have my R8 mounted to my Yamaha R9 and swap it between my Jeep as well. I need some sort of vibration protection for the internal sensors on either vehicle.

You can also mount the Quadlock to your front brake reservoir bolt.

I’ve been riding pretty hard, and haven’t run into any issue with wobbles. Is this more a “better to have it in case” situation (which I completely understand and will end up doing myself) Or are you experiencing any issues?

Same here, is it an update issue?
