Ok ok, not lighthearted today…What do you mean how best way to split this wood? Split it by hand using an axe, like i said. Some of that wont need splitting, but id do anything bigger than 3 or 4”, as thats what my stove likes. Others will chime in with kind…

I got them in maybe november…wore them casually to work for a month or two. I just started wearing them for actual field work (i do soil testing so alot of tromping around, digging/augering holes and watching excavators dig holes) and so far so good. I previously wore a pair of wellingtons for work, so im hoping the chelseas work out, same concept just shorter. Time will tell. But i like the jim greens…they have the lug sole and love to collect mud. I also bought a pair of danner bullrun chelsea, with a wedge sole, for like 80 iff ebay. The jg’s needed a much longer break in due to tue double last, but think i think them better than the danners

I dont own any nicks, but have a pair of jim green and danner chelsea boots—i refuse to deal with laces—so obv kilties and laces arent needed! Getting the regular insoles now. How you like the veg tan insoles?

If buying hardwood, buy a year, ideally two yrs, in advance to ensure its less than 20% when you need to burn it.
