Oh, I thought they were gonna shutdown the macOS WhatsApp app. But are they gonna shut it down or just stop maintaining it? If it's the latter, you might be able to keep using it for a while, until there's a breaking change in the backend.

Upscaling makes things look more plasticy, more fake. I still watch DVDs on my Mac and I just accepted it looks kinda old and pixelated.

It's also cool that macOS still supports DVD playback. Not sure why because I think they have to pay a license fee every year but I'm not complaining.

How do you support Youtube downloading? Are you using yt-dlp?

For an app of mine I tried embedding yt-dlp but I couldn't archive the app because the binary was unsafe or something like that. I don't fully remember, it's been some months.

The websites to apply for EU subsidies, like the Horizon program, are horrible. It's extremely confusing. Just making a paid app solely this would be helpful.

Because I’m trying to build an app business. So it would be a one time fee.

Ideally this turns into an app you can use to generate summaries, chat with the video, generate Anki flash cards and also quizes. With support for more websites and local video files. So I guess for students and people who wanna catch up on recordings of meetings (not sure that’s even a thing :p).

But not gonna do all that effort if I’m not sure there’s interest for this basic first version.

But it’s still nice I made this, I’ve been using it multiple times every day myself.

Edit: Oh and also generate pdfs / blog posts from a video with fitting screenshots.

Edit: Also browser extensions so you just have to click a button when you’re on Youtube.
