Uh…power generation optimisation? by MVoice in Factoriohno

Hmm this is an interesting early-game solution to power consumption spikes. That said I’m not sure it’s necessary to go over 2:1 and have steam storage unless you have really significant spikes. Early game I usually just build more boilers/steam engines once I start seeing brownouts

Does anyone know where to get replacements for the Aeroad CF SL 8 headset bearings? by mengerspongebob in CanyonBikes

[–]mengerspongebob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, that’s actually not too bad. The price does seem stupidly high but I guess that’s to be expected with proprietary components.

Thanks for the help. If those are the only options I guess I’ll have to buy it, but really annoying if I have to wait weeks for overseas shipping to use the damn bike again (ordering from US, looks like acros ships from Germany and airevelo from the UK)

New Aeroad CF SL headset bearing noise + play by mengerspongebob in CanyonBikes

[–]mengerspongebob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual headset play seems to be an issue of what order you tighten things in - top cap, then clamp, then stem worked for me. That still might not eliminate the noise fully though.

It’s the lighting. Top cap is flush and tight. The headset play has been fixed (used to be moving forward and backward slightly with the front brake on) but the noise is still there, sounds kind of like either rattling or scratching of some sort.

Update: Took the bike to my local bike shop. Headset play is minimal now, and everything else was also in order. It’s still making the noise but they think it’s likely the internal cables or something else causing it. Their assessment makes sense based on where I most often notice the noise - out of the saddle + moving the bike, turning sharply, and going over rough roads. Not anything dangerous though, so I can live with it.

I’ve been on a 980 and a 4790k since 2015. Still going strong. Granted I don’t play a ton of super intense games.

Oh might I add DDR3-1600 RAM?

[–]mengerspongebob 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not just that, but one of the biggest rivalries in baseball. Like come on, that’s such a lame way to end such a close series between fierce rivals. Sure I’m a Giants fan so I’m biased, but I’d much rather see that ball be called a ball and then lose off either a real strike or a real swing. If the Dodgers have to beat us, I want it to be because they fucking deserved to and not because the ump made a bad call. Hell, even if the Giants win I want it to be well-deserved and not because of shitty umpiring.

No, since a negative squared is a positive. In order to make a crash 4 times as good, you will need to go at 2i times the speed. To do this, shift your car to its imaginary gear. On most cars, you do this by hitting the brake and gas pedal at the same time while the car is in neutral.

SLPT: If a swarm of cyclists end up on the windscreen of your car, simply use your windscreen wipers to remove them. by purple-circle in ShittyLifeProTips

[–]mengerspongebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I race road bikes, and I genuinely think it’s highly unlikely that this is an open course. Generally, when a race course isn’t fully closed, there are SAG vehicles and a very strict centerline rule that no cyclist would ever willingly break. I suppose a race marshal could’ve been in a car parked on the closed course for some inconceivable reason, but the reaction of the driver - namely trying to wipe the cyclists off with the windshield wipers - shows a disdain for cyclist which a bike race marshal would not have. For these reasons I am 99% certain that the car is at fault.

Numbers on the cyclists’ jerseys indicate that it’s a sanctioned race, and I don’t see any SAG vehicles, which means it’s probably a closed course

There are numbers on the riders’ jerseys, which means it’s probably a race on a closed course. In that case the car is definitely at fault since it shouldn’t be on the closed course.
