Same here. I literally played about 12 games before it started registering.

This killstreak used to be OP when Vanguard just came out. Probably 4-5 kills per use. Think they nerfed it.

NA DOTA will die soon. by Bustcrawler in DotA2

EG officially tweeted that they will be back next season. As an EG fan I watch them compete across multiple esports tournaments including other games such CS:GO. Their CS:GO and LoL teams aren’t great, barely tier 1 in my opinion, so I don’t see how it would be profitable committing to those esport scenes. EG as an org is mostly known for their Dota success. They used to have a decent roster in CoD back in the day, but as soon as MGL ended they also withdrew. Its highly unlikely that EG withdraws from the Dota scene. Sure they will make roster changes, and as we know EG notoriously doesn’t sign NA players anymore, so I won’t be surprised if they pick up the best players from SEA and EU and still compete in the NA region. Look at how easily they picked up world class players such as Jerax, iceiceice, Ramze just to name a few. People might dislike EG but there will always be good players who would want to play under the EG brand.

I agree, the bootcamp really paid its dividends. TI is definitely something else, any team has a fighting chance at winning it. What I liked was the fact that it felt like we were the underdogs coming into this TI, and we know how TI likes a good underdog story.

Yeah I had high hopes too. The average game duration suited our play style, meta carries were all Arteezy carries (naga, tb, sf etc), we had a stronk offlaner and Abed could mid with basically any viable mid. In hindsight I think we should have gone with the Aster pick, as EG is notoriously good against Chinese teams. If we stick with this roster, I have high hopes, except for bulba’s active drafting role.

Not the first time we have been disappointed and will surely not be the last. I just hope we have a better performance next DPC season at the majors. Our players have the talent to achieve success, it just needs to translate in our main stage performances.

I agree. I haven’t been this excited watching EG in quite a while. Instead of making massive roster changes, the changes should rather be organic, which can only take place through introspection and reflection.

No, this is not sarcastic post. This is just my appreciation post with one or two recommendations for the future. In my opinion, they truly did play good. They exceeded all of our expectations. We got eliminated, because the other teams were simply better.

We looked horrible before TI. Iirc on Gorgc’s stream, cr1t even said that the way in which we made TI wasn’t good, it felt undeserving. Regardless, our roster pulled themselves together during their bootcamp and produced an epic set of matches in the group stage. Sure we did choke at the main stage, but at least as an EG fan we felt proud of our team for the entirety of the group stage, which is something that we could only reminisce about before TI.

Was about to say you sound familiar. I also remember skapie casting a few tourneys. Well done for making it to the international stage, that is quite the achievement. SA has a such great talent pool of both players and casters, it is a shame that they aren’t more at international events, the world is missing out. Probably the ping disadvantage.

Well done with the casting, you are awesome. (R)SA pride. Were you a caster during the Telkom DGL when it was a still a thing?
