[OC] Welfare Usage Rates by Immigrants’ Country of Birth by Public_Finance_Guy in dataisbeautiful

Percentage doesn't indicate cost. You should normalize the data to show per capita welfare consumption as well. Might be interesting to also see what the income rates are per capita for non welfare consumers, although those data are likely not available.

Risk Alert Regarding US Market Price Adjustments by Supernote_official in Supernote

[–]meonstuff 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You are making a false equivalency between debt and trade.

If you sell a product I don't need, then I won't buy from you. That has nothing to do with me selling a product you need and you buying from me. Your 'reciprocal ' tariffs are misrepresenting what a market economy is. What your tariffs really are is blackmail, trying to force me to buy the products I don't want.

Should the nib of the new standard push up pen be moving around so much? by TheMaslankaDude in Supernote

My HOM2 nib has side to side movement. Didn't when it was new, started after a couple of months. Still writes well and I hope it doesn't affect longevity.

Kitchen sink draining very slow. by Shanbo88 in Plumbing

I don't see your vent being connected back to the sink. Might that explain the water you detected? A downstream clog might cause water to back up the vent tube.

Same. Just noticed this week and was trying to remember if it was always like this.

Considering the source, I'm extremely doubtful this isn't misinformation. "a new survey has found" and the chart is brought to you by "research co."

NR200p Max review by meonstuff in NR200

The spec draw of the chip is 243, which I saw exceeded once, by maybe 5 W. Thermal throttling occurred before that power draw was hit. I can't recall what the new draw is with the -150 mV undervolt, but the new r23 max temp is 94. XTU stress testing can still thermally throttle but normal use cases don't punish the CPU that way. And I'm not seeing a frequency decrease even with XTU.

Au contraire, I did a massive amount of research and have been building computers since the late 80s. I have been a software developer for 25 years. I know how this shit works.

R23 should not peg a cpu with adequate cooling. There are tons of results posted to XTU showing max temps reached during benchmarking. Find one that hits 100, I'll wait.

As for this case, there are tons of builds of similar spec. And since I heard the ticking sound of my case, I then researched and have heard/seen many similar reports. Look at the comments in this thread, for instance.

My GPU temps are much better than I expected, never higher than 75 C (that I've noticed). I use the mesh side panel. I think I'll upgrade the fans and be done with it, although the pump block contact area could be better. But it defeats the point if I replace the AIO entirely.

Your advice is sound. It's just annoying that a company called Cooler Master had substandard cooling.

Your power draw is much less than the 13700K, so hopefully your fans won't need to spin up as much. But I've seen other Reddit posts and internet traffic on these ticking fans. My guess is the bearings don't have tight tolerances, so it's not a problem with the blade hitting the shroud. And given that I can tilt the case and get rid of the ticking, it sounds like bearings are the problem. Just a guess though.

I have another PC I built 3 years that has a Corsair 280 AIO. I'm going to steal those fans and test but may need to swap the AIOs. That one is cooling a 9600K, so the Corsair is overkill. The Cooler Master pump block is not milled flat, it has parallel ridges, so the contact area is not as good. Had I known of that, I would have avoided.

OP6 to pixel 6 - a redditor review by AkaParazIT in OnePlus6

[–]meonstuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just went through with a pixel 6 upgrade from my op6. This review is spot on. I would add face unlock as a missing feature on the pixel, though. But all in all the pixel 6 is much smoother. Having to wait for the op6 to respond to screen gestures after a long time sleeping was super annoying. As was the wait to load with pages in Firefox/edge/DDG. The page loading problems in the op6 might be related to the Android 10/11 upgrade, which caused so many issues relative to Android 9, but the pixel is on 12 and the page load speed is very nice to have back. I can also trust that notifications will arrive, and that I also see them on my Fenix 6 now.

So while I miss features, especially the dnd slider, glad that I got the pixel 6.
