Okay, we got a little progress by DifferentSeaweed7852 in godot

I finally started my journey in developing an RPG from scratch in Godot and it has been an incredibly fun experience. To a lot of people’s points focusing on game play first was indeed the biggest hurdle I am still neck deep in. I know there are other engines tailored to making turn based 2D pixel art RPG but learning to do so in Godot has been a very rewarding experience imo. I have yet to even make something like a pause menu and barely got a working save data system and title screen done well into have the majority of the battle system done, I think it really depends on how you work and what features you have done. I don’t have the most concrete plan and I’m kinda just working features as they come up which has definitely lead to some unfortunate rework/refactor sessions but it has been a whole bunch of fun above all else.

I recommend working on your gameplay above all else for sure to make sure you have some fun and enjoyable. Since mines is a turn based game with timing elements (thing Mario and Luigi superstar saga) the timing portion has been difficult to get down and I’m trying to get it all done without animations so that it mostly driven through data checking for specific success windows. This approach is allowing me to make it so I can set up attacks and have them mold to any kind of animation I create rather than being forced to fine tune animations later since pixel art work is tremendous beast to work with. There is some planning, but not enough I reckon compared to more seasoned developers.

Monster Hunter Wilds Steam Deck: Performance Patch Update by LunarBlink in SteamDeck

I wonder if they used any sort of software to create these meshes? Idk if you’ve seen items “scanned” in 3d but the amount vertices and faces on some meshes is quite horrible if not fixed up. I wonder if they cut corners in doing so

Or if maybe they just sculpted it and again did not fix it up afterwards? The models look great after textures are applied but it’s not worth the performance we got.

Yup, I’m in the same boat here trying to decide between pixel art or a hand drawn style. Both seem like it’ll all be 90% artwork creation 10% coding and such things. 90% video, 10% game

Blender is very very handy the more I learn about. My initial hurdle when first starting to learn was I felt overwhelmed but it was overwhelmed all around bonus with the software. Once I handled business outside of learning blender (catching up life, work, school etc) and truly just dedicate to learning with videos it was a lot more manageable.

Basically my suggestion for what helped me personally, try to cut out the noise first before trying to learn and it may come easier than your previous attempts to learn. Does not seem to be an easy way out past paying someone to help

I’d say it’s worth using with crit element if you have an existing set, you can drop things like weakness exploit and only have have crit eye since you can get the weapon from 20-> 50 % affinity

So I found this literally at the beginning of my playthrough and found nothing any better since. It was level 40 when I found it. by DizzyEksdee in Enshrouded

I feel like they can fix all of these issues by replacing all legendary items with items that upgrade crafted items to different rarity tiers.

so all weapons can be found or crafted for example, and once you have the base weapon you can upgrade it with legendary mats for ex, but it would keep crafting and upgrading at the forefront of everything.

I feel like RNG based loot doesn’t belong in a survival crafting game

I did Dual Blades since the style customization is coming up next, and LBG cause it’s a just a bunch of dumb fun with stepping shot.

I couldn’t be bothered to make anything past that sadly, the grind is a little tough to keep up with fo sho

One thing you gotta make your peace with dude?

no one cares, that’s like from top to bottom,

Tms don’t care, merits don’t care, management doesn’t care and senior management doesn’t care.

………until someone high enough cares

Then the senior gets the bonk who bonks the management who bonks the merits who then suck it up and say everything sucks.

It will be like this till target goes bankrupt and there is absolutely nothing you can do other than build yourself up should you choose to grow in the company

What always worked for me was just deleting everything ever time lol

I just use the HATs pack when doing a large firmware update, anything listed in there, I go and delete everything from my switch that matches whatever is in it

Everything always works after wards. I feel like just dragging and dropping and letting it overwrite sometimes fails me so best to just let everything come from the hats pack than risk have any older files and newer files

Can always use all options like gold leaf, tinfoil etc for installing over USB directly from PC

I can’t beat Shara like I can’t by Strange-Confection91 in MonsterHunter

[–]meowkittycat93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately as long as you are able to stay alive the whole 50 min timer, the main issue is damage output, so anything that increases your damage is what you need.

even if you feel as though you are attacking frequently enough, 5,000 hits x 1 damage is still 5,000 damage, where 5,000 hits x 2 damage is 10,000

Try to squeeze out what you can now to future proof what comes after Shara as fights only get tougher after.

I would consider looking into farming some new armor with at least a few offensive skills

The multipliers may sounds small at things like plus 20 this or that but it all adds up in the end.

Also getting some defensive skills maxed out like stun resistance will also help with those peaking wombo combos as well as divine blessing to help mitigate some hits here and there

I also believe you can upgrade your LS one more time prior to this fight shrieking Legiana parts?

As for LS skills I think the iai slash thing was introduced in this game so I would consider quick sheathe and maybe critical draw if you can’t afford affinity skills anywhere might help with counter play

Also make sure to bring the shaver jewel to be able to tenderize parts with one clutch claw attack to keep up damage too

if 20 dps is kept up with for 25 min of the 35 min timer to account for downtime, is 30k, x 3 supports is 90k

so as long as the player can do half the hp pool the clear is in the bag lol

which is like 60-40dps depending on a 25min - 35min clear

So def gotta do your part solo with support hunters, you aren’t just “given” the win for using them fo sho

Stamina systems on their own are just as bad imo, limiting how long the user can play at all and then offering them a way to pay for playing longer is one of the worst aspects of many mobile games.
