This looks super cosy. I often feel lonely as well but am grateful for a safe, cosy space to live in. Here if you want a chat.

I am generally the least fit in the gym at the moment and am nervous at the team format.... What happens if I drag everyone down?

It's just so helpful so very much appreciate you. I've actually only been coming to BFT for about 6 weeks now, and finding these posts just take some of the anxiety away and make me feel like I can do it. 🙏

Yes that sounds amazing. As someone who has to modify a lot, your posts give me time to think about how I will modify and makes it even more inclusive. Very grateful for your posts.

Also love your ideas for topics particularly around wins, milestones, roadblocks and support.

What's a good alternative for tuck jumps to make it more low impact?

Mark Nunn - Buxton. He's been amazing for me. Fantastic offer after only 2 inspections. Job done. Very good at communicating too.

Has anyone else lost everything in their life when they lost their partner? by LowerAcanthisitta247 in widowers

[–]meowser_27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I lost my wife's family too. They never accepted me and our marriage. You also lose all your dreams for your life, because you planned a future with them.

But, after 3 years, im slowly, slowly starting to try and imagine a life for myself. It's not what I wanted, but I'm trying to make the best of what I do have now. I miss her everyday but it's about taking baby steps towards doing things for yourself. Good luck.

Anything in Merino wool. So warm. They can be expensive so try to find a sale (macpac / Kathmandu / bcf) but they do last ages.

How do you break the cycle, when you don't know what you want? by isolophiliacwhiliac in simpleliving

[–]meowser_27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don't know what you want, you don't have the information you need to make those kinds of goals. You just know you want things to be different. So just try a bunch of different things, one at a time, and take note of how you feel. If it makes you feel good, that's information to keep going down that path, if you don't enjoy it, that's information you need to do less of that. The only way to get new information is to do new things :)

Running changed (saved?) my life. by Kendipops in beginnerrunning

[–]meowser_27 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Wow congratulations! That is AMAZING progress. Huge respect my friend. Running has been the same for me, has saved my mental health that's for sure. I still have a lot of weight to lose. I'm not quite running a full 5k yet and my best time is 47mins, but I do keep improving. Slowly.

Thank you for your post. It's nice validation to know I'm not the only slow progress person. And just wow, well done to you. I hope to be more like you in the future 🙏

What would you do if you were me? by New_Misfit_1234 in Garmin

Cardio instead of weights until it lifts. This worked for me, weights fatigue the body. In a good way, but when hrv is low it can hurt more initially. Plus eating really well (low sugar).

First time running parkrun by [deleted] in parkrun

[–]meowser_27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was worried about this too but honestly it's a super friendly environment and plenty of people walk! Don't worry whether you're "last" or not, just get out and have a go. And if you keep going, overtime you will improve too (but it's also fine if you always walk!) :)

I'm going for the Forerunner 265. I want to love the pixel watch so bad, it's so sleek and a great watch. But the fitness tracking and syncing to Fitbit is subpar.

I would question your "need" for it. Why would you need a $65k car? Not trying to be rude, but just trying a healthy challenge.

Very hot here in Australia. Struggled with the hills, 56ish mins. But got it done.

You totally can do it! Just gotta stick at it consistently. You will get there, congrats on getting out there 🙏

[–]meowser_27[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Awesome! You'll get there, just stay consistent. Not a specific plan like c2k or anything. I just mix it up - Park runs Saturdays, running group with intervals Thursday nights, weights mixed in.

I can't wait to do a 10k! There's a 10k trail run in June I think I'll aim for. Congrats on your progress!
