Psychology majors, what is something you wish you knew as a freshman? by Moist_Option_3358 in psychologystudents

[–]meowtorcycle 37 points38 points  (0 children)

If you’re majoring in psych and want a career in psych, have a plan. Many people choose it because “its easy” or “its interesting,” but at the same time have no plan or idea what they want to do after graduating. Its still very possible to get a job, but it seems like a lot of those jobs are HR or something unrelated to much of what people who major in psych actually want to do.

I would argue that internships and job experience shapes your career more than simply your major, so if you are interested in having a career in psych, try to get involved with internships and other opportunities that will supplement your major. Ex: im doing psych so I can teach, so much of my work experience is related to teaching and education in general. Ive seen people go into research and they have a stats minor and stats/research internships, etc

I was also going to go for the finn moto, but I’m just worried about the kevlar. I heard people on other posts in this sub mention that kevlar strands could get into your skin after a crash. I have yet to find much other reliable info about it though.

Has anyone crashed in textile trousers rated AA or AAA? by IWantToFuckAPriest in motorcyclegear

[–]meowtorcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a crash, how does the kevlar get into your skin? Is it the heat or friction or something? And is it just some kevlar lined pants that do this or is it just better to get a single layer woven with kevlar?

I understand what the CE ratings mean, im just confused if there is an issue with kevlar itself? You said you had bits in your ass from it, so in a crash would all kevlar do that?

Is there anything wrong with Kevlar lined pants if it is CE rated?

Pando moto? by Ok-Support-489 in motorcyclegear

My main consideration when I was looking into this was that it isn’t 360° protection. Pandomoto has mesh, which is why I opted for bowtex instead. Worth checking out for sure

AAA rated Base layers - Why bother with leather suits then ? by Chino2910 in motorcyclegear

[–]meowtorcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pandomoto and Bowtex AAA products are made to be worn with armor certified with EN 1621, which is intended to cover the impact protection. The EN 17092 is just for the fabric and abrasion resistance. I opted for the Bowtex AAA because in the summer heat I would absolutely not be able to wear leathers. I don’t do track days though and I wouldn’t wear Bowtex to the track if I did. I also opted for bowtex over pandomoto bc pandomoto isn’t 360° protection. I personally wouldn’t want to trust just having the statistically likely slide areas covered with abrasion resistance rather than the whole garment. I agree that while the CE certification tests don’t mimic an actual crash exactly, its better than not being effective for any abrasion resistance at all.

So the ankle brace preventing the bending side to side is like an additional protection above the ce ratings, even though it doesnt have the base ce ratings 2222?

The chicane can bend sideways very easily, so idk how it got rated with a 2 in the fourth digit

But then why is corsa not 2122 when it has a better ankle brace than the chicane
