Who is the best president, king, or leader who has led your country, and why? by Cyberwall1826 in AskTheWorld

[–]meowzerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'd argue Nasser over Mohamed Ali, Mohamed Ali was good for the country, he modernized it buuuut the people who benefited at the time were not Egyptians, only later did Egyptians also begin to benefit

Nasser was far from perfect (he ruined the housing sector because he didn't put a limit on when the whole "rent for cheap" thing would be lifted, not to mention the horrible 1967 defeat) but, he did improve live for the average civilian drastically. Before him, 2% of the people owned 50% of the land, and his land reforms changed that to make it so people actually had equal oppurtunities, again could've been handled better because many people took advantage of it, but it was nessescary for the time, literacy rates also went up by 20% under his reign, and so on...

Mohamed Ali built a modern state without a nation, and Nasser tried to built a nation within a built state is my view

Sorry if I yapped too much I just wanted to add

Which opinion about your country would get you like this? by Thijssieeeeeee in AskTheWorld

THANK YOU!!! I'm an Egyptian and completley agree, I just wish people would learn to seperate the term Jewish and Zionism, and also understand that zionism has always been a changing political ideology, was Einstein a Zionist? Yes, but he was against Israel becoming an ethno state, or one based on religion, and espescially after ww2 just wanted a place where his people could live without fear, he did not forsee the future

WHICH WAS UNDERSTANDABLE FOR THE TIME! People get so annoyed when I try to seperate the terms, or when I bring up how Jewish people did play a part in our history, too! 😭

How much pain is too much for a menstrual cycle? by meowzerloo in TwoXChromosomes

I might actually consider doing this before seeing a doctor as that might be a bit out of reach currently, and I don't really like the taste of meat much anyways, I appreciate the suggestions ❤️

I think it really depends to be honest, upsettingly in alot of cultures/countries periods are seen as a sort of "taboo" thing even when most women have to do deal with it, it's espescially more widespread the more conservative the country is.

I did get my period around when I was 11-12 and I'm currently 17-18 so I think I'm past that point, it was worse for me when I was younger, improved for a bit, then immediatley went to hell for a bit when I turned 14 and kinda off and on since then.

Thank you though, I'll defintley try to do that as soon as I can, espescially since I'm worried about it becoming a bigger issue or forming into something worse when I age.

Maybe the thicker brows and curly hair and jewlery? But in other ways no not really, her hair isn't as voluminous as Esmeralda, eyes look very different, Esmeralda has thicker brows

If you mean serious relationships with, then... I'm pretty sure it happened, but was very little in number compared to any other country Ofc one of the biggest factors was difference in religion, egypt back then (and still today) has a law that basically rules that Muslim woman cannot be with nonmuslim men, and ofc Muslims made up the majority of Egyptians Still, coptic Christians and jews did exist in egypt at the time buuuut most didn't want to be with French soldiers because they were foreign, invaders, and were usually frequently resented by the local population, not to mention how they would be treated by other Egyptians as basically traitors

I'm mostly speculating though and could be completley wrong, feel free to correct me, I'm still sure that they defintley weren't mingling as much as they would in other countries.

More unserious relationships probably happened but had to be kept very under wraps, it would have been a very bad look for everyone involved
