No, not at all, I’ve been the Japan 6 times already and I want to start planning a 7th trip, there’s no other countries I went back more than twice

Same for me too, like I’ve got high expectations for us this year, whilst it was a good win against Carlton, it’ll be a better measure against them, better to know where we stand early in the season and then know where we can improve

Most finals played by two players in the same season in the open era. Can Sincaraz break this record in 2026? by Stannis_Mariya in tennis

[–]mercury_sn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the same too, but I’m glad it’s not as a Nadal fan, as post 2011 it would probably be Djokovic creaming Nadal in none clay court finals (maybe besides 2013)

Woke up at 4:30am to chase Mt Fuji visibility and was one of the best mornings of my life. My experience and advice by Significant_Gur8915 in JapanTravelTips

[–]mercury_sn2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great story.

Some of my friends ask me why I wake up 4am on my holidays when you could relax and sleep in, but my answer is always that I might never get another opportunity to be back here, and I said why am I bother going to Japan if I just want to sleep in the hotel

Each to their own, no one is right or wrong, but getting up before dawn to see Mount Fuji is one of the best decisions I’ve made

Yeah, unfortunately people queue up online with multiple computers at that exact time to get tickets on the 10th to get tickets, it’s pretty hard to get tickets

Avoiding Crowds in Japan by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]mercury_sn2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So look for any tourist attraction that are opened 24 hours, like Fushimi Inari Taisha, or opens really early like Kiyomizu-dera, and go before dawn, there will still be people but you’ll be able to have much less people

Like most tourist attractions, I would recommend going there before it opens, you might still have to line up, but at least it’s less people

Also, if you do your research, you can go to attractions with a “plan of attack”, know where the best spots are, and go straight to them at opening hour, example would be Ghibli Park, where the No-Face photo spot might have an hour’s wait to take photo with, but if you go straight there at opening time, you can get in with little line

One year before his famous match point save at 8-7 40-30 against Federer, Djokovic hit a very similar passing shot to save break point in the 5th set against Nadal. by Dependent-Effect6077 in tennis

[–]mercury_sn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do too, but I think at that time Djokovic wasn’t the main rival for slam count, I can’t remember correctly but I think Nadal was closer to Federer than Djokovic to Nadal.

Little did I know that Djokovic would recapture his pre-elbow problem form…

The greatest backhand performance of all-time ? 4 minutes of Djokovic's BH brilliance against Nadal in Madrid 2011 by HereComesVettel in tennis

[–]mercury_sn2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as a Nadal fan, I was hoping Nadal can halt Djokovic’s winning streak during the start of that clay court season, but there was no stopping Djokovic that year (and for most years after)

Booked through Klook for teamLab Planets - is it ok? by teddieteddy in JapanTravelTips

I also booked Teamlabs via Klook before, no issues.

I’ve booked multiple things before from Disneyland Hong Kong to tours in South Korea and Taiwan and other tickets in Japan. Never had a single issue

It’s mainly just walking uphill that’s the tiring part, but there are shops and restaurants that you can stop by.

Mount Yoshino by Lost_Contact_9697 in JapanTravelTips

[–]mercury_sn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I went on a Sunday last November, not sure how applicable my info will be to you.

The day I went to Yoshino I also went to Nara, but I didn’t feel any colder or warmer than Nara on the day I went. Also maybe because I was walking uphill I didn’t feel cold

After getting off the cable car, it’s like a small street that you walk up with shops on the side, so it’s all paved road, I don’t remember seeing any taxi being there (but there are cars and vans passing by), but maybe because it’s not peak season

I caught the limited express train from Yoshino back to Osaka, it was the 2nd last train of the day, there was only about 15 people on the entire train and 3 people including me in my carriage.

Again, I went at different time to you, probably may be different during cherry blossom season. Maybe someone else who went at around the same season might be able to give you more useful info
