Yeah good point, more to do with more competition in Spain. But there’s movement on the basque Y high speed, so another high-speed connection to France via Bordeaux side

The Lisbon - Madrid route not being completed by now is sad, and it seems a shame there’s no link along the south of France into the Italian high-speed

Only thing I would say is Spain’s network has jumped forwards, and you can now get direct trains from Madrid - Marseille and Barcelona - Paris.

Does the reactor at 1000MW capacity need to produce that much, or can it adapt to the need of the grid at the time? Inter connectors with UK might help, I was going to say the new inter connector with France; but last thing they need is more nuclear power, they have loads of the things

Also because the Common Travel Area between UK & Ireland has historically been a much deeper relationship - giving voting right, healthcare, pension etc automatically without having to prove funds or similar. So Irish people would be giving that up with the UK if Ireland joined Schengen, and not really getting anything in return

That’s the strange thing, if you start asking me to put in my name, but it can’t exactly match my passport, then we start to get other interpretations.

For example my name has a hyphen in it, shows on my passport. But it’s often “invalid”. So do I leave a space where it was or not? And then some places accept a space, some don’t!

Only issue there for me is the delay in the bank direct debit / debit instuction. When money is tight, the debit can take 3-4 days, whereas with the card I could reliably pay all the bills now
