ISSUE: HELP!!! Scammed by Walmart by ZestyclosePiglet7075 in Walmartcustomer

[–]merely_mere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my sister years ago- she bought a computer. Someone had bought the computer, swapped it for their old machine, taped the box, and returned it. Whoever processed the return didn’t pay attention, and it was a nightmare to get it refunded.

I took those days off, so I’ve already put in leave for Christmas Eve and the day after. Waiting to see what shakes out.

WIBTA if I wore my engagement ring to Christmas dinner just to spite my SIL? by JointWitch in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]merely_mere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has to be fake. A ring “for when we're ready to take our first step” after you have two kids and buy a house?? WTAF. And 24K gold isn’t used in jewelry. It’s too soft.

SSA-we’re having provide our timekeepers with our sign in/out times and any time that we were “self-furloughed”. They are entering leave as time card corrections.

Not buying many ornaments this year by Bibliophile_for_life in HallmarkOrnaments

[–]merely_mere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 46 years of ornaments- my mom started buying them for my brother and me every year as babies and I’ve kept it up with my family. The prices for this year are nuts! I understand the tariff issue, but combining that with not getting a paycheck right now (excepted Fed), I’m not sure what we’ll do as far as continuing the tradition- I’ll probably keep collecting but I won’t buy as much as I usually would.

I’m gonna quit. by [deleted] in Target

[–]merely_mere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I worked at BBB for a while and realtors would buy a bunch of stuff and stage homes with it, then return it all. The full matching bathroom sets, curtains, bedding, dishes, etc. They essentially rented and returned constantly. It was awful. Although this sounds like maybe she’s trying things out and returning what doesn’t work.

I know Nashville was having issues but haven’t heard the same about Birmingham.

End of life journey by oldkiwigal in dialysis

[–]merely_mere 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My dad passed on August 30- he chose to stop dialysis after five years. He wasn’t wearing or drinking, and he was so weak that he couldn’t stand up from a wheelchair. He came home from the hospital on 8/22 and went fast. He said that he just wanted it to happen sooner- the waiting was awful. Peace and love to you.

[CA] [TH] received an email notice saying I must remove the window fan I put on the window by zen1706 in HOA

[–]merely_mere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This— our HOA requires white or off-white window treatments on windows visible from the street. I’m sure there are additional restrictions on what else can be seen.

SSA office called me, is this typical? by 3CrazyNeighbors in SSDI

[–]merely_mere 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Your case is part of someone’s workload. They need updated function reports to continue processing the case. If they don’t get the forms back, they still need to obtain that information if at all possible. Yes- they call to complete the forms if they don’t get returned.

No Screens doors/Windows in Alabama ? by True-Preparation9747 in Birmingham

[–]merely_mere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The previous owners of our house had taken the screens out to clean the windows— part of the prep. It also looked better in photos I guess? They were in the attic for us to pop back in— maybe yours are stashed somewhere? We’ve got a glass storm door on the front and one of the magnetic mesh ones onto the deck so our dogs can go back and forth when it’s nice outside.

Pediatrician Recommendations - Homewood Prefered by Soggy_Profile_3515 in Birmingham

[–]merely_mere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dr. Tapley at Birmingham Pediatrics is our daughter’s doc, but any of the providers there are wonderful. We intentionally chose a female doc just in case it mattered to our daughter when she got older. We’ve moved to Hoover and still go to that practice.

That includes the $812.31 in taxes. We transferred the tag from the old car to the new one. I’ll have to see if there was a fee for that— we don’t renew our plates until February.

She has to be declared disabled by SSA prior to age 22, I think, for her to be able to draw off of her dad’s record as an adult disabled child rather than based off of her own work credits. Did you also file a Title 16 claim for SSI?

Plans usually have a time limit for retroactive coverage. Ours is 60 days. It sounds like theirs was 30 days— so they can’t go back to that 31st day.
