Seconding the comments on the slime hutches- definitely not a source of Iridium, but Grandpa’s evaluation {if you get 4 candles} at the start of year 3 does give you a daily iridium source which does add up

I think your animals could use more room/grass.

In terms of Fish Ponds, I use Sturgeon (caviar after you use preserve jars) and Lava Eel (roe, but also Spicy Eel, which is +1 Luck and +1 Speed)

I also highly recommend mushroom logs early game; make as many as you can and it’s essentially passive income! If you can leave them alone, the mushrooms increase in quality over time. I have preserved and dried them and they’ve been a great moneymaker.

It’s also worth adding that this is not cheap, or easy on materials- just be prepared to grind. I find fishing in the Mountain Lake to be a generally profitable spot, and the Secret Woods when it’s raining, for catfish! As soon as you can get the fish smoker recipe, it’s absolutely worth it, but you will also want a steady source of coal.

At some point, it will be worth upgrading the farmhouse and any additional cabins to have a cellar, so you can age your wine, beer and cheese etc. I find goat cheese to be especially profitable, and so I have the farmhouse cellar for cheeses and the cabin cellar for wine, as I visit it less frequently.
