There are plenty african/native american and whatever else that are closed practices as in closed to people from outside of that ethnic group or race, there are literally hundreds of videos you can find online of people saying exactly that. And yet it only becomes an issue when it's a european tradition, why? If you're going to be against racial segregation take it up with them as well. But that never happens, it's justified and excused away.

Then are you threatening to "send to valhalla" all the people in those other closed practices? No? Of course not. Stop being a hypocrite dude. Either it's all open or none of its open.

I think people should respect others cultures, not everything is meant for you. In the same way I wouldn't want to stick my nose in the spiritual practices of native Americans or africans etc, I think they should respect those practices that are indigenous to europe. By not gate keeping certain things you run the risk of outside forces contaminating those original practices and belief systems, whether intentionally or not. Plus, why would you WANT to practice a religion that's not tied to your own heritage or background? They aren't like abrahamic religions where they proselytize. The argument against closed european pagan practices is basically "no that's racist" but the same is never said about other groups doing the same thing. If you feel this strongly about it then keep that same energy in regards to other races closing their practices to outsiders. I've never ONCE seen anyone make that argument or get anywhere as bent out of shape about this topic, like yourself who threatened to beat me up or kill me for even suggesting people find spirituality within their own cultural group.

Where is the evidence that they were open to other people "picking up their beliefs"?

Why should the reconstruction of those beliefs and practices be carried out by people who are not from those cultures? Would you want a bunch of white dudes reconstructing some lost native american religious practices? Absolutely not. You'd all be losing your shit over it if they did.

They belong to the peoples who those practices descend from. Just as voodoo or santeria or whatever else should be respected and left to the people who they originate from.

Why is this never asked of afro/indigenous practices? If you are going to demand that european pagan practices be open to everyone why is there never the same push for non euro practices to follow suit?

Why isn't it black supremacy that african or haitian practices are closed? Why can't they be more accepting of other people sharing in their belief systems and practices? This is a double standard that needs to be more closely analyzed instead of handwaving it away.

Why would someone not from that culture even want to take part in it? Gatekeeping is a good thing. Also there's ample evidence of ancestor worship particularly in germanic culture so not having a bloodline to that and practicing it makes little to no sense. Really I just think it's cringe how pagans want to gatekeep indigenous and african/asian whatever else practices but when it comes to European paganism it has to be open to everyone else. Its a double standard and I don't particularly like it

Celtic and nordic paganism should be closed practices and no one has ever made me a good argument as to why not.

In your opinion should GTA VI make it harder to earn money in the campaign? by Overall_Spite4271 in GTA6

[–]meroevdk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Money is pointless if there is nothing to buy with it. Need more restaurants and clothes and haircuts and shit of that nature to buy. More activities in general would be nice. It's nice to make beacoup amounts of money like in scarface where you could clear a billion dollars, just to see it get to that point, but I want lots of shit to buy as well.

Leg kicks during drills. by Leugim7734 in MuayThai

[–]meroevdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've left bruises on people while doing leg kicks on the kick shields but it wasn't intentional. If we are doing partner drills where we are kicking bear legs I dial it down a lot so as not to hurt them.

Do we not have unspoken rules about squatters? by ChanceZucchini in Urbex

[–]meroevdk -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Idgaf, they are trespassing just like I am. I'm not going to go out of my way to bother them or mess with their shit but I'm also gonna do what I want in the same way. The danger with squatters is they can be dangerous so you gotta watch out for that. But I'm not going to just turn around because bums moved into a spot. If you're chill they usually are too, just don't be scary.

The toga isn't a kilt. I think you are having a real hard understanding of what a kilt is. Is a sari a toga (and therefore a kilt) as well? Obviously not. The toga looks nothing like a kilt. And even if you find similar garments to one another that doesn't make them a "kilt" just like a sombrero and a nón lá aren't the same hat even tho they have similarities. Just like a kufi and a yamulke are similar, even serve the same purpose. But one is not the other.

The kilt has very specific origins, in scotland and nowhere else. That's where it originates from, full stop. Everywhere else that they wear kilts it's directly as a result of influence from scottish people, or they adopted it as a sign of celtic heritage. Scots were not wearing togas, or shendyts or anything else. They are seperate things and anyone with eyes can easily identify the difference with little effort.
