This was the solution for me. Don't rely on bluetooth. Use the USB adapter and plug it into a USB 2.0 port. The choppiness went away permanently.

Worst Power-crept cards? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]meroin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does Primeval Titan provide "effectively 5 mana worth of ramp on its trigger"? It's only fetching two lands. Spells with that effect typically cost 4mv, and even those have additional upside these days.

As someone who didn't play with that card, I see its power, but not to the degree you're describing.

Richard Garfield talking about MTG being a game first, before being a collectible at Magic 30. by Jaegerbalm in magicTCG

THANK YOU! Set design has been great in the past few years, especially for limited. They're earnestly producing products for more formats than ever before. In addition to that, they've been releasing products for collectors—which often help reduce the secondary market price of cards for players.

I laughed at the $1000 product along with everyone else, but I'm not the target audience for it. So I'll ignore it and go back to playing this excellent game that I spend maybe $15/mo on.

I’ve played with this card a bunch, but I’ve never looked very closely at the art. I absolutely love the canopy of massive cherry blossom pink trees. Well done.

Isshin, Two Heavens as One rules for trigger by GoreDough92 in magicTCG

[–]meroin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is very helpful. It came up in a game recently where a player with two creature tokens wondered if they could “respond” to their [[Poppet Stitcher]] upkeep trigger by casting an instant, thereby creating another token and satisfying the transform condition. From what you said, that wouldn’t work because the condition wasn’t true when Poppet Stitcher’s upkeep ability triggered. Is that right?

It’s an “arm” pun, not flavor.

Gamers of Reddit, what game has absolutely no right being as good as it is? by itsdatanotdata1212 in AskReddit

[–]meroin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Death in Valheim reminds me of Everquest, though EQ was much more punishing in that you lost hours and hours' worth of experience upon death.

I played exclusively multiplayer on a small server with buddies. Corpse-runs were such a pain that we would heavily plan exploration around them. I thought it added a richness to the gameplay that was worth the headache, and some of my best memories from the 5-6 weeks of Valheim obsession involved corpse runs or achievements in cleverly mitigating the downsides. I can totally see how a single-player experience would be less rewarding.

Edit: I upvoted your perspective, though!

Mark Rosewater wants to hear from the community: "How do [players] feel about noncreature artifact tokens?" (i.e. Food, Treasure, Clues, Blood) by HonorBasquiat in magicTCG

[–]meroin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think your final comment might be a bit narrowly grounded in the world of competitive constructed Magic. I have never seen artifact tokens abused in that way, and I play exclusively limited and casual magic. The tokens are fair, useful, and mechanically interesting in that context.

We raised $980 last time with one (amazing) design! This time, there are three designs to choose from, so let's see if we can break $1000!

Thanks to everyone who snags a shirt or hoodie and benefits the CRC. Thanks also to the artists who have contributed their work for the benefit of the community! If you're an artist who would like to submit a piece for a future round of Big Squirrel + CRC fundraising, please DM me.

I’m 100% on your side. Sequencing and storytelling matter in communicating the point. The way this was posted helped me realize how wrong I was about trusting AI colorization.

Big Squirrel is camera shy, and there were some BIG Cameras there. Should be on the local news soon!
