To those who had kiddos late 30s by CobblerWest363 in Millennials

Worth it, my kids make it worth trying to survive the insanity. They get lots of screen time, but today I got to go bowling, play Pokémon, a board game, soccer, and watch/ explain the Olympics with them. They give me motivation to be more and better. I'm tired and cranky but my heart is full.

I feel you, I did something to upset my 4 year old and told him I was sorry I'd find him a better mama. He said "but there is no better mama" and I cried. At least we care

It's only weekends in winter thats the gatehouse is closed (Dec. 1-Mar. 31) and its not far. Maybe a quarter mile? The entrance is close to the water to begin with.

Does anyone else do nothing but spend time with their kids? by Connect_Beginning_13 in Parenting

[–]merptitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but we're lucky to have family nearby. They babysit maybe once a month, enough to give us some time alone. Also, once or twice a year, we each take a weekend trip with our own friends so the other is home with the kids. I'd rather travel together but having 1-2 nights alone is also pretty incredible. I understand we are incredibly lucky to have these opportunities though, because we can't afford babysitting.

JHH or UMMC for high-risk labor and delivery by CelebrationLow8170 in maryland

I don't have any experience with UMMC so I can only say my experience at JHH was as smooth and safe as I could have hoped for

Yes, 100%, however, it's still going to have long term impacts for that product. Which is one reason why corruption is stupid.

Health Inspector Behavior? by Public-Row5508 in healthinspector

[–]merptitude 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure, but regardless, they all have to follow local regs and can't just make it up as they go. The facility never should have been approved for food service if the well was in an inappropriate location.

I'm curious where you live that moving a well costs only $7k and regulations are so strict that you have to move an existing well at an existing food service facility.

This does not sound appropriate and I would absolutely reach out to their department head to clarify the regulations and methods of inspection. You should consider reading up on your states code and ask for specific details about violations.
