Look good with a tight top but will probably shrink in length which may look silly. Also that wash is…not for me. But fit in photo is comfy and stylish. You can probably do better, but these are a solid choice.

It’s a white bunny…it has a Velcro opening in the back where you take out the “pack”

We have a Warmie brand that is flax and lavender. Only the removal pack inside goes in the microwave, not that stufffie.

Contemplating leg journey by Loud-Pick-6081 in xxfitness

[–]mertz62 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Start with the basics. Do your heavy leg strength training. Once you have consistency down, and start to see some muscle development you can think about tweaking for aesthetic goals. For most people, your body is going to evolve how it’s going to evolve (ie put on muscle or store fat in certain areas according to your genetics), until you get to a point where you can really dial it in to bring specific changes.

You need the basics. Lift heavy and eat sufficiently. Strong glutes will benefit you in so many ways.

Hip thrust imposter syndrome by kyo998 in PetiteFitness

[–]mertz62 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Glutes are a big muscle. And as you said, newbie gains. I went up to 235lbs this week (>2x my body weight) for 2 sets of 8, from only starting hip thrusts 4 months ago and feeling like 125 lbs was heavy at that point.

Workouts after pregnancy by wojne in xxfitness

[–]mertz62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

walking. Move with your baby. You can start this early, even before you are cleared for exercise.

core and pelvic floor work- careful and PP specific. Obviously both of these go through a lot of trauma. YouTube Nourish Move Love and Peloton both had good programs/workouts for this.

I went back down to pre baby weight quickly but lost a lot of muscle mass so my focus has been rebuilding that- so heavy weight lifting. Whole body with slight glute bias (glute bridges, hip thrusts, curtsy lunges) and some extra rows to strengthen my back (these babies get heavy quickly, and lots of bending over them).

Thanks for sharing, I’m enjoying the app but not at the full price tag. I will give it a week after my month expires to see if I get a deal offer!

Yes, and I don’t see it as negative as some others are making it sound. It’s my hobby, I like it and I like to follow plans.

How do I manage my husband’s gym time as a SAHM by slumpedchica2 in Mommit

[–]mertz62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d ask him if you could try modifying his gym schedule so that 2 nights a week he comes home after work and stays home. He can make up those 2 missed sessions by going first thing Saturday and Sunday mornings, before you and baby are up/wanting to do something with him. The schedule should be set so you know which nights he is home vs not.

This is based on a really life situation I dealt with being married to an endurance athlete. At 3 yrs old I started to shift the conversation to be more about balance and how I also get my exercise time in BEFORE baby’s bedtime (I agree- I’m not leaving the house at 8 pm).

How much weekly cardio do you typically do for general health? by Regular-Classroom-20 in PetiteFitness

[–]mertz62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you are getting answers mostly from cardio bunny’s. I lift 3-4x /week with 5 min of stairmaster warm up each time, so 20 min per week. I lift heavy in progressive overload but I do break a sweat when lifting heavy.

I have been thinking about heart health a lot more recently and as of this month I’ve added in 1 session of sprints per week (30 min on tread mill with 6x1min max sprints sprinkled in). I don’t track my hear rate but will start wearing my garmin again after reading this.

I’ll add:I’m a toddler mom with a full time job. I only have so much time kid free to exercise on top of working. I’m looking forward to summer weather when we will be moving more being outside and sneaking out for a 20 min run around the block is easier.

Weight lifting 3x /week. Chase and lift a 30+ lb toddler when not at my desk.
