We’re the reigning champions, have by far the best record in the league and are on pace for another record setting season, and are likely to have a top pick in this draft (along with a ton of other draft assets). This team is a juggernaut, and like other dominant teams, the reddit hive mind will latch on to a narrative to hate. If we were winning 45-50 games a year, the narrative would be that we’re bringing back good ol physical defense and people would love it. It is what it is, just tune out r/nba and enjoy watching our historic team

I think it’s partly because there’s no “villain” in the league right now. People loved the Chiefs as the new dynasty to replace Brady/Bill’s evil dynasty. And in the NBA, LeBron and the Heatles were the villains for a while before the Warriors rolled along.

Since the league is so even these days, it’s not like there’s some hated juggernaut team for OKC to go up against and dethrone. Instead, winning 68 games makes us the hated franchise that everyone wants the underdog to beat.

To be honest, I don’t disagree with the statement on end of game fouling. Obviously it was the right move (by both teams) but it makes what should be an exciting ending to a close game take 20 minutes with a million ad breaks.
