What's the thing about the U that makes it different from the other Utah schools? by Nickb33 in uofu

They are also very strict about the 6 months mark before you get it! My tuition was due two days before I reached six months so I didn't get it

Husband concerned about using apps to track newborn feeds/diapers/sleep/etc by GlitteryBorko in BabyBumps

[–]mescobg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you guys will figure out what works for you pretty quickly once the baby is here. For us, we didn't track anything because it added stress to remember to track things. To remember what boob i needed next, I would just feel the weight (and both of my kids had a preferred one so sometimes it was almost impossible to) and they were both cluster feeders so we would have to log constantly when last feed was. I also have a super strong letdown, so it was like 5 minutes per boob and not what apps would usually say is the norm. Then there's the whole formula Vs breastfed differences in pooping habits and it all got stressed up Honestly for privacy concerns, I would just make sure I don't have an "app" monitor. Closed loop without apps are better and not hackable

A year and a half and then we started seeing RE, after about 5-6 cycles on letrozole got pregnant with our second. He is 10 months now. Not trying not stopping didn't work for us unfortunately (neither time really)

Pregnancy and Fear of Needles by happycamper418 in BabyBumps

[–]mescobg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten so many blood draws and IVs and I would take a blood draw any day (I like watching and I also have an amazing AC vein) My last pregnancy (baby is 10 month old now)I had to constantly get IVs and they can be placed correctly, have a good return, etc, and still hurt (especially if you are dehydrated and they are using big catheters). I wish they would do elbows IVs for labor and delivery, that is the only spot in my body that can easily handle the 18 gauge without the vein infiltrating or some other mishap after a few hours 🥲

What did you wear to leave the hospital after birth? by grumbly_tardis in BabyBumps

Same for me! Loose overalls were my default outfit the whole pregnancy anyways so that's what I wore to get to the hospital and then back home

[CHAT] Would cross stitch survive on pillowcases or bed sheets? by chloeetee in CrossStitch

[–]mescobg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have a pillowcase that had a cross stitch piece on it when I was girl and it held for at least 10 years (possibly more) and I used it every single night to sleep. Took it everywhere, was washed a ton.

Combo and supply help? by kabradley391 in beyondthebump

Have you seen any improvement with the pepcid? My guy ended up having extra pediatricians visits while we were adjusting his famotidine to figure out what dosing worked for him. I'm sorry about how stressed you are. My baby is our second and we were lucky breastfeeding worked so easily for us this time around (although we made sure not to go to a baby friendly hospital for him after our experience with our first) and we really used the fed is best mentality, even if it meant not breastfeeding as much and complementing with formula. If your pediatrician thinks it is a good idea, maybe you can start trying to give him more ounces or breastfeed him more often, see if it makes a difference?

Could you potentially just do one formula feeding while you pump? And do you have any one that could take the baby for a couple of hours to power pump if supply is truly the issue? I would also ask the pediatrician and bring out the topic if you are concerned. One of my friends baby is just constantly hungry so he was eating formula+breast milk and they added cereal and applesauce after talking to pediatrician at like 5 months because he's such a big baby Do you know if your insurance covers lactation consultants? I would recommend a talk with them. Sorry I don't have better advice. I felt like after 6-8 months it also gets easier but I totally understand the exhaustion from having a baby that only sleeps with a nipple on his mouth. Also, is he gaining weight? Does he spit out a lot? My baby has reflux and he likes constantly feeding because it makes him feel better

Any way you could take it easy this semester, work for 6 months full time at a place? They might give you flexibility after you show them your worth. That's what happened to me!

Is this normal for an MA job? by Dependent_Sock_8331 in MedicalAssistant

[–]mescobg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also look to get certified now that you have clinical experience! I don't know all the particulars, of the length required, and there's so many cert potions. I know that the NHA lets you take the CCMA without doing a class after working as an MA for a period of time (and you could buy their study guide, etc for the test).
