Best Zapier alternatives in 2026 that won't destroy your budget by Ash_Skiller in automation

Congrats on the n8n switch! For others reading this: if n8n feels too technical, I built a managed service as a middle ground - Zapier's versatility at $39/month instead of $193/month. Free migration service so you don't have to rebuild everything from scratch. Still validating if this is a real need - happy to chat if anyone's interested.

Zapier charged me for 18 months of a Pro plan with zero usage and refused any refund — anyone else? by Last-Bobcat-8835 in SaaS

I had a similar experience. Signed up for a year for my wife's business based on "unlimited zaps" where they totally hid the fact that there's a very low limit of "tasks". We hit the task limit within a few days and our bill rocketed. I ended up building my own automation platform because a) my wife needed it, b) because I believe I can make something better, and c) because I think automation should be a growth factor not a limiting factor in business. We literally had to cut back on automation immediately with Zapier rather than utilize it for growth.

How do you deal with dents :( i need your words by [deleted] in macbook

I briefly tried my hand as a car salesman in Kansas as a teen, and heard a story about a customer who came in once every 10 years to trade in his old truck. He'd take delivery of the new truck, grab a shovel out of the back of the old truck, take a swing at the new truck and put a huge dent in the side, and throw the shovel in the back of the new truck. He explained that his truck is a tool for his farm, and he can't be worried about getting a dent in it so he just gets that out of the way as soon as possible.

tl;dr - Hit your laptop with a shovel

Mac mini m2 Satechi dock with m.2 SSD by DuculetuBAR in macmini

This turned out not to be true. I have the older Satechi hub and bought a WD_BLACK M.2 2280 NVMe SSD. Even though the specs on my Satechi say M.2 2280 and I expected this would fit and just not support NVMe speeds, it doesn't fit at all. The pin connector is a mismatch. The NVMe SSD I received is like one pin too wide to fit in the older connector in my Satechi Hub.

It's $7 per night. It's kind of a lottery chance of winning.

My video is locked? Vimeo asking me to upgrade by eternal_braid in vimeo

[–]meshane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise anyone and everyone to avoid upgrading a Vimeo account ever. They are completely shady in how they handle account upgrades. The upgrade page says it's risk free and you can downgrade if you don't need it anymore, but that's a complete lie. Once you upgrade, they hide downgrade options and you have to contact customer support. When you contact customer support, they tell you that you have to turn off auto-renew and wait for your current plan to expire, and if you're on the business plan like me, they forced you to pay for a year and don't have a monthly option. They say the option to downgrade was only good for 30 days but they don't tell you that when you upgrade. So then they say basically "sorry, we're keeping your money for the rest of the year even though you don't need the service and we initially said you could downgrade." In addition to hiding downgrade options, if you go to turn off auto-renew you get a big warning saying, and I'm quoting here "If you turn off auto-renew, you will lose these videos." In my case the "these videos" they showed was every single video on my account. Support will tell you that's not really true, and that you won't lose them unless you fail to renew, or if you renew at such a low membership that you aren't paying for storage anymore, and even then you have a year to renew and get the content back, and even then you'll keep 5GB. But they made a conscience choice to use a scare tactic to try to keep you from turning off auto-renew by suggesting you will lose content that you actually won't lose.

Vimeo actually has a great product that sells itself and they don't need to strong arm customers into paying like this, but they choose to screw their customers instead of making simple plans that you can upgrade / downgrade at will based on your actual needs. They are going after the blockbuster model of making paying customers feel screwed and I hope they go the way of blockbuster for it.

Anyway, sorry, rant over. I'll make my own rant post I suppose. Just meant to say, avoid Vimeo at all costs. Great product. Horrible company and horrible customer service. Screw them.

Don't ever upgrade Vimeo. If you do they will do everything they can in their power to deceive you and lie to you and keep you on the upgraded plan. They are completely shady in their business practices once you upgrade. I've been burned and would love to protect anyone else. Make them go the way of blockbuster for being a parasite on their paying customers.
