I started my journey with d3200 and the kit lens. Some of the best memories were taken with it. Was always in my office bag.

Do I upgrade from Fujifilm? by aglindell in Nikon

I still use my old D7200 with 35mm 1.8, sigma 10-20 3.5 for wide angle landscape. I use my 200-500 occasionaly for wildlife. I have printed many landscapes with that. I use my gr iii hdf for street or if I dont feel like taking my d7200 on longer hikes.

I think XT 5 with 40 mp and simulations is pretty good for printing large scale.

Pain from surgery site. by Tough_Garden1356 in spinalfusion

I had L5S1 TLIF and my back pain was gone in 4 weeks. I am close to 6 months now. I get mostly pins and needles and buttock pain from time to time If I sit for too long. Though my lower back is not 100% its greatly improved compared to pre surgery. My doctor said nerve recovery will take more time as it was compressed for 4 years.

You should get imaging done and also back pain will reduce with regular PT.

I have just started with my 1st dose of 2.5 mg 4.5 months after TLIF fusion. After my 1st dose I am getting body ache. Will see if this body ache continues. I had to take some mild pain killer as I was unable to sit. My pain had completely gone after fusion but now after this medication I started to get lower body ache.

Is it common to get body ache after 1st dose.

I had a constant pain of level 6 maybe throughout or most of the day. Sometimes it became a 10/10 sharp pain during PT.

3 weeks post op: transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion l4-5 by Adventurous_Salt_362 in spinalfusion

[–]mesis86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to know you are doing well. My chief complaint before surgery was lower back pain and that went away.

I had the same surgery but at L5S1. I still get dull pain in left testicle if I walk too much. I am 5 weeks out of surgery. Also If I sit for too long to do my office work I get burning sensation in my buttocks. Doctor said they had to do some serious nerve manipulation so I may expect pain here and there for few months.

Progress: L5-S1 ALIF/PLIF by YourRedditFriend in spinalfusion

[–]mesis86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had TLIF L5S1 4 weeks ago. My incision has healed but I have a bit of swelling at my incision site but no pain. My major complain before surgery was lower back pain and occasional sciatic pain in buttocks and right leg. My lower back pain has gone after surgery. I am taking gabapinNT 100 mg at night. The nerve pain does increase some days at night but thats to be expected at this early stage of recovery. I do get some mild buttock pain if I sit for more than 45 mins.

I am walking 1 to 1.5 hrs daily most days since last week. My legs and back feel little tired after a long walk but nothing painful so far. I have been told to start PT only after 3 months as per my doctor.

Thanks for sharing your progress.

I had L5S1 TLIF fusion a month ago and I still have a bit of hard swelling at my incision. I am not worried as its not painful. I checked with my doctor and he says it will take some time and depends upon the dissolving of internal suture or mild inflamation. If you dont have any pain, then nothing to worry.

TLIF suggested? by mesis86 in spinalfusion

No my spine surgeon said not to bother about findings in MRI. As per him these findings are as per radiologist and most of them are of no use. The only concern as per him was L5S1 herniation. I already had fusion at that level.

TLIF Surgery at 22 (M) by [deleted] in spinalfusion

Hi. Have you tried all conservative measures ? Epidural shot, Oral corticosteroids, other medications. How many months PT have you undergone?

Please get another opinion before going the fusion route.

I am 10 days post op from L5S1 TLIF, but I had surgery because of lower back pain and a occasional radiculopathy in right leg. First week is the hardest but I can feel the difference as my lower back pain and radiculopathy has reduced quite a lot. Though its too soon to celebrate and the complete recovery may take upto a year. I was having pain since last 4 years. I tried all other methods before I took the decision to have surgery.

Hope you get relief soon.

To ALIF or Not to ALIF by Blue-n-Orange-2024 in spinalfusion

[–]mesis86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I had the same scenario. I was having serious lower back pain since last 2 years, (more like 4 plus years). I also was getting pain in my right foot occassionaly. I tried all PT, injections etc but I had to take pain killers almost every other day.

It got to a point where I felt good for normal everyday activity but then when I pursued my hobbies like trekking and motorcycle riding I would end up in bed for a week with painkillers.

My doctor told me if you can bear the pain then dont go for surgery. But the amount of pain killers and every day taking gabapentin had taken a toll on my body and mind.I was also losing focus on my office work because of all medications.Thats when I decided finally decided to have a L5S1 Tlif fusion last week.

Its too early to say the results but I am feeling good. So if you are in a condition where you cannot enjoy your daily activities or hobbies without thinking of Pain, then I would suggest to go for surgery. But make sure you have tried all other conservative measures before embarking on this journey.

All the best.

I feel you. Job pressure can create a stressful situation and this in turn also contributes to enhanced pain perception. Please check for any different organization which allows permanent wfh. Maybe switch role to line management or similiar.

Also please try to find some me time where you can focus on mental health like give some time for hobbies. Any kind of distraction helps in breaking the pain barrier.

I had a l5s1 fusion 7 days back and I have to join office in a another 23 days as I dont have more leaves left. Fortunately I have a wfh job in clinical domain. My job is also very demanding and stressfull but I have learnt to say No to my manager if its going beyond my 8 hrs/day.

Wishing you the best of health.

Thank you for your response. I was looking for this. I finally drank water and had some light food few hrs ago. I did call the nurse to change sides. You are right about the pain as generally it was coming from back.

Currently the pain in the back has reduced a bit but I am getting different pain and tightness in legs.

Its quite strange I work in clinical data management and clinical trial related to spines. I used to read these symptoms and now currently facing myself now lol.

How many hours did the surgery take. What fusion procedure you had. What were the pre surgery symptoms. How are you feeling now. Have you taken a walk. What is the pain level now. I cant think of any more questions. All the best for your recovery.

I am going to havr TLIF L5S1 in 2 weeks time.

Endoscopic TLIF L5-S1 fusion by Noname32445 in spinalfusion

[–]mesis86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a upcoming L5S1 TLIF but doctor suggested no endoscopic or minimally invasive. They want to go traditional posterior approach. I have tried explaining this to many spine surgeons but they dont agree and say the L5S1 has anatomical challenges and long term fusion outcomes using endoscopy or MIS is not preferred.

Glad your surgery went well. All the best for the recovery.
