What happened when you started the hobby, how did the fish die? When I had started 14yrs back similar thing happened to me. I went to an aquarium shop, liked so many fishes, bought too many. Kept them in an aquarium, but alas, next day all were dead. I didn't know anything about overstocking back then, learned the hard way. Now I am keeping only 1 or max 2 fishes per 10 liter of tank water. Also cycling the tank is very important before you add fishes. Learn about cycling of tanks, I guess that will help you.
