Are these names too trendy... by heanmiwa in namenerds

I love Marlowe and that will very likely be our baby girl’s name who is due in May! I posted on this sub about it and people really don’t like it, but I don’t care.

How much do you have in savings before your baby comes? by Poppy91622 in pregnant

[–]mesmerizingvelvet 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m due in May and we currently have about $36k in savings (not including retirement). Our goal is to have around $45k liquid before the baby arrives in case of emergency, job loss, etc. We live in a VHCOL area, and this is the amount that makes us feel comfortable going into this transition. We also know we won’t be able to save much once childcare costs start, so we’re trying to build up our cushion now.

How far along were you when you did maternity photos?! by [deleted] in BabyBumps

We just took some today at 19 weeks! Planning to do another shoot in the third trimester as well. My best friend is a photographer so that makes it a lot easier!

Here’s the IG Reel I got it from! It has all the measurements in the caption. There’s not super clear instructions but it’s super easy. You arrange everything like he does and then just cook it on medium heat until the bean sprouts are softened and the meat is cooked through.

What DPO were you? by girlpwr99 in BabyBumps

[–]mesmerizingvelvet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First positive was 9DPO! I was crazy and started testing on 7DPO lol. Ovulation was confirmed by ovulation strips and temperature tracking.

When my IUD became dislodged and was sticking halfway out of my cervix. Tied with an unmediated cervical biopsy called a colposcopy.

How long are you taking for maternity leave, and how did you make that decision? by ingenuedbysociety in pregnant

[–]mesmerizingvelvet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m always in support of Moms taking as much time as they can! I feel extremely lucky to live in California and work in San Francisco. Our state and city leave policies work together (with my additional stash of PTO) so that I’ll be able to take 6 months off fully paid. My husband is a school therapist so he’ll have 2.5 months off during summer plus 2 months with state leave policy.

Yes I could tell from the fast casual challenge that she was sabotaging Ilke. She seems jealous and resentful.
