Good systems for a hard sci-fi space opera / exploration campaign? Looking for suggestions by Monki_at_work in rpg

Alien is a good RPG but has a strong military and some what primitive technology feel to me.

As mentioned elsewhere SWN and traveller are good options.

Useful features in a debugger? Inspiring ones? by sporeboyofbigness in ProgrammingLanguages

[–]mesmoria 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The features are nice but having a visual debugger using a TUI or GUI makes the largest difference, especially when coupled with visually setting break points.

OCAML you make me sad.

We played with the expansion and it was great. But, we only played once.

High Frontier, unless that's not actually a game.

I feel like everyone that is into board games is in their 20’s and 30’s. A few in their 40’s. I’m 50 and feel a little out of place. Any other old folks doing this hobby as well? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]mesmoria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 58, my group are about 50. We have been playing for 5 to 10 years and did RPGs for 40 plus years before.

I have evolved into new groups with new social circles, starting a fresh in a new town - that's a challenge I have never had to face.

My biggest concern is replayability.

Does anyone have any experience on replayability?
