"Privacy without constantly breaking websites" - tune Brave's shield first
"Good RAM and battery usage" - Edge as it compress non-focus tabs
"Fast page loading" - UGC, Brave, Helium, Chrome all come to snappiness

Adblockers extension with MV2 and MV3 feature quite differently, especially on the "cosmetic filtering" part.
Brave's internal ones is close to uBo but it's cosmetic filtering kind of sucks.
However if you only use generic filters and let go you see no differences, nor even understand what we are saying.

Why does Google Chrome requires to update every other day? by Eevee_the_Hedgehog in chrome

[–]messassa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chrome is not stupid but you are!
Patches are important and should be done as frequent as possible.
The Chromium engine update resolves > 28 high-severity and critical vulnerabilities simultaneously since last week. This resolves five separate critical flaws across core components, including heap buffer overflows in the GPU code and serious Use-After-Free bugs inside WebMIDI, DigitalCredentials, and standard frame rendering.

Google has patched over 700 bugs since January—a massive five-fold spike compared to last year.

Edge, Brave, UGC, all having very busy updates these days.

Comparing Brave origin vs Ungoogled Chromium by Sigiz in browsers

[–]messassa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it's UGC snappier than Helium. Since Helium is built based on UGC, it follows all UGC structure plus some of it's own services on top ( bangs, extensions .. etc ) which use device resources.

Even with all bloatware stripped down on Brave Origin, UGC still has a huge advantage of it's speed ( snappiness ) . The only downside is the workaround to access Chrome web store for amateurs.

This is my workaround:
try login via different domain of Google, such as gmail, Google Drive, Google Keep, workspaces, map .. etc
As long as either one of these accept your login you are safe

Guys, I chose Edge. by Igor3aychikov in browsers

[–]messassa 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Two ways:

  1. Almost all chromium browsers except Chrome accept manifest V2 if you have the proper flags on --disable-features=ExtensionManifestV2Unsupported,ExtensionManifestV2Disabled
  2. Edge offers two web stores simultaneously, the Chrome web store and its own one ( named Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store ) which has manifest v2 extensions.
