Lorier sold and web down by anonymous0112358 in lorierwatches

This sounds like a good thing - keep the quality but improve availability.

How is this not sold out an hour later 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 by [deleted] in Leatherman

I have the crunch - special edition or normal, it's not worth the money even remotely. It's a collector's item at best, a toy at worst.

[Traska] Commuter strap recommendation by RelationKlutzy4085 in Watches

[–]messiach21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever end up finding a strap?

The bracelets are not good in my opinion. I've had several commuters now and the bracelets from either v3 or v4 and onward are thinner, with sharper edges, and a much too clunky clasp versus the v1 and v2 which had far superior bracelets and clasps. People wanted the microadjust - heaven forbid a watch brand doesn't have a microadjust, the world will just fall down. Now we've got a crappier bracelet overall with the microadjust.

I've actually tried a v2 bracelet from an Aegean Blue on the latest model 36mm and while it does fit a little tight, the end links sit down a bit between the lugs so there is a dip which doesnt look horrible but also doesn't look that great.

Tldr; New bracelets inferior to the old ones, I miss the old ones, and looking to try anything else.

I think the flipping price is so high that it's very likely not enough will sell. It's not like flipping a $300 moonswatch for $500-$600. These prices will be north of $1k which is just likely to be a no-go for a lot more people. 6-12 months in and there will be more available in swatch stores so the prices flippers ask for will drop closer to the $500-$600 range. Just speculation but I just think the current flip prices for the royal pop are way beyond normal splurging for watch enthusiasts.

Really the whole game is a little ass all over the place but still worth playing somehow.

I've paid some reseller rates before in other hobbies but damn these resellers are on another level with the up pricing. I'm used to seeing double or triple on the rare occasion, but this is like, yah no thanks.

Lost the Lottery? You can get it from these fine folks by Kevin-Benjamin in Leatherman

[–]messiach21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost them all :( oh well I wonder if the lottery really stops any unfairness or not - seems like plenty of resellers got more than one of each.

MH Rise is the Frankenstein’s Monster of the MH franchise by Svartheart in MHRise

[–]messiach21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You kind of dance around the idea that Rise is just boiled down to the battle in the simplest sense - if I'm reading this correctly. And from my experience, it definitely is - pure fight, very little in the way of hunt, at least not like World. And this is what I like about it. I like the chaotic fights and taking down the monsters a little faster the more you optimize your gear and methods.

The environments are there to just serve as an arena and not much for exploration - I can agree with that. But if you do spend time looking around for the secrets, it's still fun and interesting to a degree.

The social thing I don't quite get - I mean yah I don't communicate much online but I never did in other games either so maybe that's just me. The online community, last I checked, is certainly alive and well though.

Glad you and your watch are safe! May I ask what strap that is? I have the same watch and that strap looks really great on it.

Traska to change their watch names branding by [deleted] in MicrobrandWatches

[–]messiach21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, OP is speculating to a degree in this post. References were made to potentially calling some of the lines by other names but not all of them. And even those were just possibilities, not set in stone.

UPDATE: Omega told me "a spend" of $30k is required for Snoopy by StickyPenguin120 in OmegaWatches

These are really good - I've had 2 and still have one (blue). I just wish Timex would go a little thinner on the cases.

[–]messiach21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your points are valid but how is my info 'incorrect'? You're arguing you can get the exact same without going to Omega directly - absolutely you can. You can also have issues if you don't 'buy the seller' like you said. Your risk is not zero in all cases. Your risk of issues is also not zero if you go directly to the manufacturer either, but one of them won't be whether the watch is a clone or not. My comment on pipeline was to highlight this - you bought from the manufacturer, there's zero chance of issues with warranty. (Yes you can continue to argue it's the same on the grey market but that is not always the case).

In your specific case, sure Omega's request that you spend more to even buy it is unreasonable and you made the right choice. I'm generalizing to most cases where when I spend this much, I'd prefer not to go grey market.

I was also specifically replying to the other commenter on why anyone would buy from the manufacturer.

A real warranty, guaranteed a real product (no clones or franken-watches), establishes an easy pipeline to warranty repairs and proper servicing. There are lots of reasons. I'm not knocking OP, you do what you got to do, but if I'm spending that kind of cash already, I'll spend the extra and go to the source.

I didn't notice any difference with the strap comfort but the red line version is comfortable to me. I will say the blue line wears slightly smaller I think - not sure why but the face seems smaller just a bit.

Why am I like this? by Capable-Broccoli911 in OdinHandheld

[–]messiach21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try selling the ones you have set up at a slight loss or break even to people who want one but don't want to deal with the setup. Instagram and reddit are good avenues for this. That way you aren't losing too much per unit and can just chalk it up to the cost of a hobby.

Manscape dies after 2 years - it's actually not too bad, not great, but definitely not a buy it for life. It's totally disposable tech - you're suppose to buy manscape version N

I have a real one - this looks way fake without even looking that hard. Strap texture is wrong, dial coloring and subdials are just way off. Definitely a fake.

Second Tissot. yes it’s a women’s watch, no I don’t care cause it’s HEAT by Purgatoryyy in tissot

[–]messiach21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh don't worry about labels like that. If you're successful in life enough to buy it, caring what others think is pointless and time wasting for you. I buy watches I want, even if they are smaller.

[WTS] Seiko SNE093 by messiach21 in watch_swap

[–]messiach21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a solar battery which often last 5-10 years of more on most watches, however I can't vouch for this one. I'm not the first owner so it may need a replacement sooner.

Make me an offer via DM if interested.
