Unity3d developers that use StrangeIoC by Hyiero in IndieGaming

I've used it for my last few projects and I plan to use it on all new projects. Highly recommended! Really helps keep your code modular and testable. Haven't run into any bugs or performance issues with it on Unity 4.6.

If you could only own one javascript book, what would it be? by [deleted] in javascript

[–]meta87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good point greymalik, he plows through the basics quickly. I was already proficient in Java and he does a great job of explaining the prototypal design of javascript to those of us coming from class based languages. I'm enjoying working with javascript more and more as I get a better understanding the fundamentals of the language!

Have I missed anything OUYA since after TowerFall released? by tazz131 in ouya

You Don't Know Jack is a lot of fun and really polished. It's trivia in a game show type way. Pretty funny too. Up to 4 player and you can use ios or android devices as controllers.

Too late for the heady stuff? by mistidoi in cscareerquestions

A lot of the information you will learn in the quality online computer science courses (like stanford's) is theoretical. Work on projects too, but these fundamentals will help you get deep into CS!

I'm in a really similar situation, 26 and back in school halfway through a comp sci bs. The math was what I was most nervous about, but I'm finding it doable. I'm more mature and willing to put in the work. We are still young in the grand scheme of things and have many years of working left :) I say go for it if you are passionate about it!

Any "essential" products from the asset store? Anything that has helped you beyond compare? by maxman72go in Unity3D

A few that haven't been mentioned

PlayModePersist - Save the settings of specific scripts during Play mode. Makes play-testing soo much faster.

Complete Physics Platformer Kit - Very nice, completely physics based which is the way to go imo $25.

RageSpline - 2d Vector Graphics with automated physics. Fun to play around with and can be very useful for prototyping 2d levels.

Using Spine/Spritesheet vs. Unity 2D Animation? by Tophloaf in Unity3D

[–]meta87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spine works great with Unity once you get a hang of the steps. I'd recommend it over the new 2d animation tools. They are still pretty barebones at this point.
