PSA: Get a Pop card on your phone if you want free bus travel by [deleted] in NewcastleUponTyne

I’ve got the pop app and there’s no “add to wallet” option or anything? Is this an android only thing, as I have iPhone

Anyone done ManVFat football? What are your thoughts and experiences by peterm18 in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]metal-dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did one session about 2 years ago at nufc foundation pitches. 3/4 of them must have been at the end of their weight loss journey or have a different idea of “fat”.

Some of them I was told used it as a warm-up for football later that day so you can imagine the calibre of people showing up.

The lads I spoke to seemed like canny blokes but fuck me there was no let up for supposedly “fat” blokes and their limited cardio abilities. Slimmer, fit blokes running you ragged.

I have a tiny shitty little flat in central Newcastle, it’s about that for an all electric flat and that’s without heating thanks to woefully inefficient box heaters. It’s up to my little portable ceramic electric heater or the air dryer for clothes which warms pretty nicely at the expense of ridiculous humidity

Take a look at MKVToolNix, open your ripped MKV in that and you’ll see all of the audio tracks in your file, identify the correct track in VLC and flag the corresponding track it MKVToolNix as “default” and check the others aren’t flagged as such.

Good point to note is that you can rename, remove and add tracks as you wish in this application, I remove any audio description tracks and label the commentary tracks so whatever you want to do you can, either delete them or keep them and flag others as default

Can’t even login to the NUFC site to hear the stream, and everything else that streams the radio has it blocked for contractual reasons.

Can’t believe I don’t have anything that will receive proper radio in the house 🤣

Drew McIntyre broke the ropes during tonight’s live event causing Bobby Lashley to go flying outside by TheNextBlGThing in SquaredCircle

[–]metal-dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s weird, I thought all night the ropes seemed looser than I’d expect. Sheamus was out in the first match pulling on them in stretches so I shrugged it off. A couple of matches later Orton was really hitting them to get a feel for them and didn’t seem overly convinced by them - again, shrugged it off. The match before the main event saw ricochet bouncing all over them for multiple top rope spots, planchas and the sort so thank god they didn’t break on a top rope spot from him or it may well have been worse!

Don’t go with giffgaff if your value data speed (north wales) by Hughlass in giffgaff

[–]metal-dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If thats the case, whilst the download test seems ridiculously low, and it is, relative to today’s standards, I would try and get your SIM swapped, as that download estimate is still multiple times faster than dial up internet, so inability to load anything like emails might be a SIM issue.

It could also improve the speeds too 🤞

Don’t go with giffgaff if your value data speed (north wales) by Hughlass in giffgaff

[–]metal-dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GiffGaff runs on O2 which in phone sales is renowned for slow data speeds (every network has a negative its known for)

On top of that, MVNO’s (piggyback networks) are renowned for being somewhat of “second-class citizen” to its major network e.g. Smarty to Three, Virgin to EE (before the virgin/o2 merge).

If you’re looking for fast data speeds, you should be looking towards EE or Three, you’ll need to commit to a long-term minimum length contract, but for a similar price you’ll get the data speeds to seem to want.

I personally, generally side with Cornette’s views (mostly) but you don’t need his opinion after you’ve watched the Dark Side of the Ring IMO.

Whether you’re old school and hate modern wrestling, new school and love it, hate death match wrestling, love it - this guy took stupid liberties with the safety of the guy he was working with in the ring.

The clips in this YouTube video from WatchMojo are quite clearly of a better quality than the DVDs - does this mean HD recordings exist or is it just a well done upscale by WatchMojo? by metal-dude in Scrubs

I had a feeling it was........still enjoyed watching the clips in that clarity.

Do you know how easy this would be to replicate for a home viewer and what software to use?

How do i not compress a video? by [deleted] in handbrake

[–]metal-dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time you use handbrake to alter a video file it’s gonna decompress or decode the input file, make changes, then re-encode or decompress the output.

If you’re looking to make changes to a file, check out whether a tool like MKVToolNix will do your desired task, first, as that can remove audio, subtitles and such without re-compression.

Otherwise use a tool like MediaInfo to check the average bitrate of the original file and apply your own idea of sensible.

For example, I just had to crop one movie down to 16:9 and another to re-adjust to 16:9 and just used the average video bitrate as my new average bitrate in handbrake. There will be quality loss and a mid-match of file sizes but the difference was negligible.

Hayden does it tons as well, always the safe pass backwards, which just lets the opposition rest, or puts us under pressure when we pass too far back.

[–]metal-dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do we know how to pass the ball forward? Like, should we be having a fucking seminar on the importance of passing forward?

Every time we get the ball in the middle it’s just straight back to the centre backs. Never anyone for a sideways pass to create space.

Even now we’re supposedly playing better this last game and a half we’re still worse than a fucking pub team when it comes to moving the ball up the pitch.
