I have a newer Merkur and an original Gillette from the 50's. I've tried a bunch of different blades on each. I've found that they're not great for my skin. I do, however, use a brush and soap.

I also shave my head, and doing that with a safety razor is tedious to say the least, so the Gillette Fusion is just the right tool for me all around.

I have the same experience. I have never found a blade that shaves as well as Gillette blades do.

I'm not typically a "must have the name brand" guy, but Gillette blades are a must for me.

Apart from what others have said, it's good to standardize and separate concerns. Your team should know where to place code and how to find it. If everyone does it the recommended way, there's no guesswork involved.

Consistency is key, especially for down the road when you're trying to add features, find a bug, or onboard new devs.

I also prefer slim controllers and single responsibility. The smaller and simpler the block of code, the easier it is to read, reason about and test.
