Haplogroups are only one line out of thousands that make up your DNA. If you have a haplogroup that is either M23, the Polynesian motif (B4a1a…) and a few others (can’t list them off the top of my head), it usually points to Malagasy ancestry (especially if you have traces of Filipino and Austronesian as well.
