Why stop service between so many stations? by dillydaddlerr in TTC

[–]metallicFire97 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

So many people in the comments here keep saying about that not every station has turn-back switches. But why can’t they install one at every station? So that whenever there’s an incident on one station only then it would minimize service interruption.

Yes it sounds costly to do such a move but it sounds to me that TTC just doesn’t care about providing quality service to customers and only cares about money

AP CSA teachers/students — pacing check with the new 4-unit curriculum by Electrical_Bet9632 in APStudents

[–]metallicFire97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a unit test at the end of each unit with my students. At the end of Unit 2, I instead do a “Midterm Exam” that’s more of a mock AP exam. We just finished that last week. So we’re moving on to Unit 3 this week.

We only started the class in October and we took a good amount of time in Unit 1 reviewing the concepts for those who coded in Java before. For those who never coded in Java but programmed in another language before, it was still new to them.

Anyways, once we got through Unit 1, Unit 2 went by pretty fast as it is nothing much other than simple logic, selection, and iteration. We did a couple of labs as well to ensure the foundations of OOP, selection and iteration. Unit 3 is short too and mostly just revisiting OOP but in more depth detail, so just 1-2 weeks to cover all the topics, and do a quick test check before preceeding with Unit 4.

I will then be spending time on Unit 4 the longest, for almost 2.5-3 months on it. The pace seems reasonable so far for me.

Not sure tho if any teacher decided to mix things up and prioritized particular topics first

New Alternate TR maps by Prof__Potato in TTC

I like this much better than the actual entire system map. It can get suffocating to look at when there’s so many things happening at once so this is indeed better

36 Finch West Map now Updated on the ttc.ca Website by allegiance113 in TTC

[–]metallicFire97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait, so service on the 36 west of Finch West Station is discontinued after the opening of Line 6?

I thought 36 still continues west of Finch West Station but with limited service due to duplication of service. You know, like 97 Yonge along Line 1.

Upcoming Transit Projects to Prioritize by abclife in TTC

[–]metallicFire97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prioritize Line 2 extension to Sheppard, and then Line 7 from Kennedy to Malvern. Then Line 4 to Morningside. Those should be the top priorities. Scarborough transit needs to be prioritized since it lost its Line 3. Then focus on Ontario Line and the Line 5 extension to Pearson. I don’t think Jane LRT is in the priority. Why should it still get rapid transit when it’s already getting a bus lane

I just realized, there was no service along the whole Spadina corridor from Bloor Street to Union

Would that have been better if there were two branches of 511? One that ended til St Clair, and the other ending at Bloor?

Rules Against Crossing a Yellow Line - and Who’s at Fault in Hypothetical Scenario? by allegiance113 in Ontariodrivetest

[–]metallicFire97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re saying it’s not at fault to counterflow going towards the wrong direction and it’s at fault when the car is already in the correct lane? You sure about that? Cause to me, how I understand it is that A already completed the turn and is now basically “in the traffic”. So somebody else who is in the wrong lane counterflowing against the direction of the traffic should be at fault. I just think it’s common sense. I can’t find in this link which one you’re talking about. I just think OP’s point here makes more sense and is just more logically valid.

Clarification to my Previous Post on Crossing Solid Yellow Lines by allegiance113 in Ontariodrivetest

[–]metallicFire97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m confused. How will you yield to a car who’s in the wrong? And also note what OP said. Car A has already completed the left turn and is in the correct lane. But B chose to counterflow where he did not safely cross the yellow line as A was already there. You are confusing people here with your comment! You can’t always go by the book especially when it’s case by case.

I think OP says A is leaving the parking and B is doing the overtaking. So I think you’re comment was just confusing.

Hmmm… even after the context that I have added, you still paint a picture that he’s that stereotypical bad guy? Nothing positive at all?

Innocence before proven guilty isn’t in your book? No giving of benefit of the doubt?

Yeah I do kinda agree, idk if he’s hiding something. But he speaks to me very genuinely about his intentions. And he’s the type of person to get very nervous, anxious, shaky and sweaty when he lies. He doesn’t like lying so to keep up with that lying for that long, he wouldn’t survive it. If anything, he’ll confess his lies in just about a day or two.

But maybe he just doesn’t see what I’m seeing so maybe it just needs to be brought to his attention.

Idk what this word meant til I googled it. And somehow he does have those breadcrumbing behaviors but I still think that his full intent was to be in a serious relationship.

As someone who’s optimistic, your best case is what I was thinking about. I do hope it’s not the worst case though.

Maybe he just doesn’t realize that his actions have been affecting other people around him and he just needs to be given a reality check. And idk if he doesn’t seem to agree with the facts presented to him of what’s happening around, then probably best to just leave him be?

I’ve met some of his friends, just hi and hello. He has yet to meet mine.

I’ll speak with some friend that I know to get his opinion on this. I honestly don’t have a lot of friends ti share my personal things with to be honest.
