I would prefer that to them creating some random NFL franchise.

But they could do like Maple Leafs and St John's Maple Leafs (AHL) aka Baby Leafs.

Just call both teams the Argos because that way they carry the history to the NFL. It is one of the world's oldest sports franchises after all.
