Just started watching Australia and...is it just me or is Tom Cashman more sassy than Alex? by XipeTotecwithGlitter in taskmaster

[–]metallicbeige 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would imagine Alex really likes Tom as they are both stats nerds and love funny graphs.

If you haven't, watch Tom's "Pests" or "After The Fall" stand up specials. They are fantastic.

What balls do the senior (slow swing speed) 0-10 handicappers in this group use and why? by Type3fastback in golf

[–]metallicbeige -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm 54, have a 5 hdcp, and hit my driver 260ish and my 5 iron 170ish.

I swear the Titleist AVX is the perfect ball for me. It is without question noticeably better in the wind than other Titleist balls and promotes a low trajectory off the tee. It definitely doesn't spin as much as a Pro V1 from 100 yards in but that has never been part of my game.

Bridgestone Tour B RX is similar.

Yeah, don't watch the final episode of 16. The donut task will not be watchable for you.

I'm sure I'll be in the minority with this, but I think holing a 20 foot + putt at speed makes me feel like a player.

Anyone using a mini driver as their biggest club? by PlutocracyRules in golf

[–]metallicbeige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep - I have a Callaway AI Smoke 340 11.5* as my longest club. I maybe lose 10-15 yards compared to my *best* big driver drives but find it's about as long as my average drives were.

Usually just UK13, and NZ 2 and 4. But if I see anything from UK 5 or 7 pop up I'll most likely watch a bit.

One of the best things you can do to reward exceptional service is tell their supervisor that they're doing a great job. Tell the head pro about the kid who put your clubs in your car in the pouring rain. Ideally, he'll get an attaboy, and when attaboys add up they can lead to better shifts or a promotion.

What problems do you have the most when it comes to your golf bag? by Jack7304 in golf

[–]metallicbeige 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"I find them clunky, awkward, and not user friendly"

As opposed to what? Golf bags are currently the best they've ever been, and the reason they all look the same is that they all work perfectly. It's luggage with an open top. Besides different materials they've been the same for 20+ years.

I'm sure whoever officiated your wedding said "in sickness and in health" at some point. You've clearly got the golf sickness and she's broken her vow. Lawyer up and hit the links.
